Continuing with the weekend's concert previews after touching on TONIGHT'S Power Slug show at the I-500 Track in Sault Michigan in yesterday's post, we have SHORT NOTICE LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS from three acts this weekend for you Sault Ontario hard rock fans, plus previews of Sault Michigan shows that we already knew about for this weekend as well. Don't worry, Treble Charger fans, our preview of their show TOMORROW NIGHT will be featured in our next post after this, so look for that either tonight or tomorrow morning! Now, here's what you should know for our next weekend concert previews!
Local classic/hard rock cover quartet Havadder will return to The Rednecks Saloon for solo headlining concerts TOMORROW & SATURDAY NIGHT! Apologies for the short notice, drummer Scott McLurg just announced the shows via their Facebook event page last night. Last seen two weeks ago at the same venue, this experienced veteran quartet should be back in their usual form for a weekend full of often heavy classics at the former Nicolet Tavern, so don't miss out if you're a fan! Be sure to have at 'er with Havadder TOMORROW or SATURDAY at 10:30 PM, there's no announced cover charges, and you must be 19 to attend either night. For more details, visit the above links, and for a preview, here's Havadder live at The Rednecks Saloon late last year!
Next up, former Havadder drummer T.J. Case's current classic/hard rock band Mourning Wood will also take the stage this weekend, as they will return to Reggie's West TOMORROW & SATURDAY NIGHT! Again, apologies for the short notice, the band only announced this weekend's shows yesterday via their official Facebook event page. Fresh off of last weekend's shows at The Rednecks Saloon, these will be Terry, Steven, and T.J.'s first shows at the former Roosevelt Hotel in three weeks, and continue their recent busy schedule at assorted local venues, so be sure to consider taking in their often heavy covers this weekend if you're in the west end! There's no announced cover charges for this weekend, you must be 19 to attend, and 9:30 PM start times are advertised. For more details, visit the above links, and here's Mourning Wood live last year!
Lastly for new show announcements, we'll now confirm local solo hard rock singer/guitarist Tym Morrison's February concert schedule at The Harp Bar & Grill! Still slated to play at the former Madison's Pub through at least May, we'll now list Tym's solo acoustic shows at The Harp for TOMORROW & SATURDAY NIGHT, as well as on February 13th & 14th, 20th & 21st, and on Friday the 27th! Note that Tym is not playing at The Harp to end the month on Saturday the 28th, presumably due to The Harp's likely broadcast of UFC 184 that night. And yes, apologies for the short notice regarding this weekend's shows, they were originally announced via their Facebook event page earlier this week, and we held them for our weekend previews. Tym's skilled and prolific selection of hard rock covers should go over well for both his hosted jam nights on Fridays and usual acoustic sets on Saturdays this month and beyond, so keep Tym's shows THIS WEEKEND and yet to come in mind!
Like usual for Tym's Harp shows, there's no announced cover charges, 10:00 PM start times, and 19+ age limits in effect. For more details on TOMORROW & SATURDAY's shows, and the February gigs ahead, visit the above links, and for a preview, here's Tym at Mill Square!
Finally for this preview post, here's a pair of shows that did have advance notice, as Traverse City, Michigan classic metal trio Peril will return to the Eastern Upper Peninsula for solo headlining concerts TOMORROW & SATURDAY NIGHT at The Rapids Lounge at the Sault Michigan Kewadin Casino! As previously listed on Kewadin's entertainment page, this weekend's Peril shows will be their first of the year in the Soo, but they follow an early January weekend at the St. Ignace Kewadin, not to mention sister band Scarkazm's regional dates last month. Jeff, Adam, and Brooks have proven to be a popular and talented trio over the years with their classic metal covers (and early originals), so if you're in the E.U.P., don't miss Peril's return to the Soo this weekend! There's no announced cover charges, you must be 21 to attend, and there are 9:00 PM start times in effect. For more details, visit the band's official Facebook event pages (here & here), and here's the guys live in Vanderbilt a few years back!
That's all for now, but stay tuned for our Treble Charger preview and more either tonight or tomorrow! Thanks everyone!
