Local classic/hard rock cover quartet Havadder will reportedly be back at The Rockstar Bar for one night only TOMORROW NIGHT! Apologies for the short notice, we only heard about the show yesterday via SooToday's entertainment page, though it should be noted that neither the band nor venue have plugged the show on Facebook as of this writing. Less than a week removed from their last Rockstar Bar show, it's good to see this talented veteran outfit back for their second show of 2016, so if this is definitely on for TOMORROW, don't bypass it! Note as well that this is a one-nighter due to one the newly announced Saturday night concert that we'll be touching on in a bit. Expect a 10:30 PM-ish start time for this 19+ show, and bring $5 or so in case there's a cover charge. Both sans guitarist Jamie July (who I've been told is often absent from non-summer gigs), these were filmed on separate camera angles, though neither song is badly done, and both show glimpses of their softer and heavier sides at points! However, the Rockstar Republic club nights' black backdrop darkens the view a bit. Give these a look above and below, and don't miss Havadder TOMORROW!
Also this weekend, longtime Caveman Morrison frontman Tym Morrison is back at Gliss Steak & Seafood for his usual supper-time matinees TONIGHT, TOMORROW, and SATURDAY, but he has a more typical nighttime show also lined up this weekend, as he'll be back at The Roadhouse Bar & Grill TOMORROW NIGHT! Apologies for the short notice on the Roadhouse gig, it was only announced a few days ago via the official Facebook event page. While Tym's been staying busy with his (generally) thrice weekly Gliss gigs since last year, fans may recall Tym's frequent concerts at The Roadhouse in the early 2000s, where he too once had a weekly arrangement, but this will be his first announced concert there in 5 months. No word yet on if this is the first of a new run there, but you have lots of options to see Tym's unplugged hard rock covers this weekend, including his first Thursday & Friday nighters of the year at Gliss, so keep all 4 shows in mind!The Gliss shows downtown are once again 6:00 PM affairs with no announced age limits or cover charges (but again, note that this a restaurant), while TOMORROW'S Roadhouse show is at 10:00 PM, is obviously 19+, and also has no announced cover. Finally for currently announced late notice shows, local pop punk quartet Stereo North will play their first concert of 2016 THIS SATURDAY NIGHT when they headline at The Rockstar Bar! Again, apologies for the short notice, the band only announced the show on Tuesday via their Facebook page. This will be Stereo North's first announced concert since rocking the same venue in late November, and their fast rising covers and select originals should attract a solid audience once again on SATURDAY, so keep this one in mind for your weekend plans! Note that the official Facebook event page mentions that "another TBA local band" will be opening for them this weekend, and while SooToday's entertainment page lists the opening act as a joint set by Mike Gaetano and Daniel Horton (project unclear), a personal Facebook posting this afternoon credits new local nu-metal quartet Eclipse as the openers!
Though Eclipse are still without an online page, we can finally confirm their lineup (well, for those who haven't seen them live yet), and it includes 3 members of classic metal rockers Project 421, including singer Curtis McKenzie, bassist Daniel Horton (on guitar), and drummer Chris Thompson, alongside a bassist named Fred (full identity unclear.) Our source is Curtis' solo Facebook page, while his personal account confirmed their involvement in SATURDAY'S concert this afternoon. Nice to see Eclipse back for their first show of the year, and hopefully some live videos, an online page, and more on Fred come out soon! Also, Curt's Facebook page also noted in it's most recent update that he's also going to be working with newer local artist Jason Morbin as a bassist (genre unclear), and has a new guitar project also in the works, so keep an eye out for them! A 9:00 PM start time is likely for this 19+ show, which has no announced cover charge, but bring cash just in case. Uploaded to the band's YouTube channel yesterday, this gathers cutting room footage of bloopers, messed up lines, and unscripted gaffes from the sit-down interview segments that they and friends recorded. Plenty of salty language, but this is a fun video, especially if you saw the full documentary for context! Also, we forgot to mention these on here, but Shit Liver played shows in Toronto and St. Catharine's to cap off 2015 last week, and hopefully they were huge hits!
