LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS (Peril, Scarkazm, Tym Morrison, And The Wyld Stallyns), Plud Weekend Concert Previews!!

(Updated at 2:21 PM) In our first proper news post of the new year, we're tackling a very light slate of hard rock concert previews, with only two heavier acts to speak of. One was added on late notice after this post went up, so to make up the difference, our coverage of Theatre of Night's newest video will be bumped to a post next week. Still, we have lots of Sault Michigan updates to fill out this post, so let's begin with LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS, two on SHORT NOTICE!

Local acoustic hard rock trio The Wyld Stallyns will play their first public concert of 2019 when they headline at Room 21 for one night only TOMORROW NIGHT! Apologies for the short notice, this concert was only announced via the venue's Facebook page this morning, and note that the band proper hasn't posted on their own Facebook page for any reason (let alone to plug their concerts) since November. After taking the holidays off, the Elements side project's show TOMORROW will mark their first live appearance in three weeks, but fans at the nightclub above Low & Slow have been waiting two months for The Stallyns to come back there. Despite the short notice, The Wyld Stallyns fan-friendly blend of covers should go over well at Room 21 TOMORROW NIGHT, so don't miss Christina, Rob, and Jesse then! This is a one-night-only event due to the Bearded Lounge concert taking place at Room 21 on Saturday.

As usual for The Wyld Stallyns' Room 21 shows, TOMORROW's concert has a 10:00 PM start time, 19+ age limit, and no announced cover charge. Visit the above links for more details, and for a preview, here's The Wyld Stallyns live!

Next up, local hard rock singer/guitarist Tym Morrison has finally confirmed his (more or less) full slate of regular acoustic concerts for the first third of 2019, so when and where can you see him next? As per this Facebook event page, Tym will return to Gliss Restaurant on Spring Street to continue his long-term arrangement there with matinee concerts each Friday and Saturday through at least the end of April, with no advertised days off or add-on holiday gigs there. As usual, we take his shows there a month at a time for our calendar, so joining his previously announced show there TOMORROW, look for him at Gliss on SATURDAY, and then on January 11th & 12th, 18th & 19th, and 25th & 26th! Again, apologies for the short notice on SATURDAY's concert, we were waiting for confirmation of that show beyond his website, and we only discovered that earlier this week. Tym also confirmed a number of dates at The Roadhouse Bar & Grill on Trunk Road via it's own Facebook event page, so when can you see him there?

We already knew about his Roadhouse show TOMORROW NIGHT, but the other ones take place between February & June, too far ahead to add to our calendar yet given Tym's prolific schedule. Counting tomorrow, all 9 of these gigs are Friday nighters, so if you like Tym's unplugged hard rock and classic hits in a nighttime timeslot, don't bypass the above schedule! All of these new Gliss gigs (tomorrow & SATURDAY included) are 6:00 PM events with no cover, while tomorrow night's Roadhouse gig is at 10:00 PM with a 19+ age limit and no cover. Visit the above links for more details, and here's Tym live!

Also, we now know of the Eastern Upper Peninsula concert schedule for Jeff Hudson and Adam Crawford's linked Traverse City, Michigan hard rock bands Scarkazm & Peril, via a schedule posted on both bands' Facebook pages yesterday, as seen on the left! The schedule also lists dates for their acoustic act Project 6, who only play in the E.U.P. infrequently, and not at all in 2019's first quarter. We knew of Peril's gigs in St. Ignace later this month already, so let's begin with the band with the soonest new gigs, that being Scarkazm, as the Northern Michigan metal trio will return to our area for the first times this year on February 1st & 2nd at The Rapids Lounge at the Soo's Kewadin Casino branch, before returning to The Northern Pines Lounge at the St. Ignace Kewadin on March 15th & 16th. The former weekend will be Scarkazm's first locally since Christmas weekend, but the March shows will be their first in St. Ignace in seven months. It's great to have Scarkazm back in this new year with more fan favourite shows ahead!

Scarkazm are again maintaining a the busiest schedule of Jeff & Adam's active bands, but their talent and prolific nature speaks for itself, and if you're in the Sault area for these weekends, keep these concerts in mind! As for Scarkazm's sister band Peril, they have one new weekend confirmed on the above calendar, as they'll return to The Northern Pines Lounge at the St. Ignace Kewadin for shows on March 29th & 30th! These join their previously announced January 25th & 26th gigs at the same venue, and assuming nothing changes, we won't see them back in Sault Ste. Marie until April at the earliest. Peril's more old school brand of hard rock should be welcomed back in March, but don't miss their 2019 E.U.P. debut in a few weeks! All of the above new Scarkazm & Peril concerts are 9:00 PM affairs with 21+ age limits and no announced cover charges. See above for more details, and stay tuned for more!

That's all for today, but stay tuned for more news and updates on the site in the coming days! Thanks everyone!
