Sault Michigan hard rock band Tarnished live-streamed two more hour-long acoustic home concerts on their Facebook page on Friday, and we have the full rundown once again! The guys have since noted on Facebook that they'll be doing this at least thrice more this week, with planned live-streams scheduled for Tuesday at 2:00 PM, Thursday at 4:00 PM, and Friday at 6:00 PM, so this isn't quite daily like they were teasing, but it's still a lot of new content. Alas, the two live-streamed sets on Friday have about the same audio quality as their first two acoustic act videos, so I highly recommend that you crank your volume to the maximum, use headphones, and/or rip the audio track and manipulate it with Audacity. Tarnished are aware of the issues, and posted in between the Friday streams to note that they are working to fix the problems, and encouraged viewer feedback, so time will tell if Tuesday's stream is at least any louder.
The Friday afternoon live-stream features, in performance order, Alex Traynor & Josh Fair playing Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band's "Old Time Rock & Roll", Tom Petty's "Runnin' Down A Dream", Ed Sheeran's "Don't", Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'", The Stone Temple Pilots' "Plush", Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive", The Scorpions' "Rock You Like A Hurricane", Cream's "Sunshine Of Your Love", Metallica's "Fade To Black", and Theory of a Deadman's "Rx (Medicate)". The last two songs are played by Alex solo while Josh worked on the audio off-camera, and they are Alex's own solo original "Send My Soul Away" and a cover of The Hollies' "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress". The second live-stream from that evening is embedded below, and it starts with their cover of Green Day's "Basket Case", before unveiling the second song from Tarnished's upcoming debut EP, entitled "Down To The Wire". That set continues with covers of The Romantics' "What I Like About You"...,
...Lou Bega's "Mambo No. 5", Poison's "Every Rose Has It's Thorn", Skid Row's "18 & Life", Darius Rucker's "Wagon Wheel", AC/DC's "Highway To Hell", Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble's "Pride & Joy", and Anthrax's "Madhouse". Josh slips out again while Alex covers Days of the New's "Touch, Peel, And Stand" & Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead Or Alive", but returns in time for their closing cover of Little Big Town's "Pontoon". The teased classic rock focus was more apparent on Friday compared to their streams earlier in the week, but they do have some surprising diversions within the 25 songs on offer (who else covers Anthrax and Lou Bega in the same set?!) As best as I can gather, Alex and Josh sound good and know the songs well, but the audio quality of the videos is still a huge flaw against them, so be prepared to intervene if you want to hear these with any ease. Give Tarnished's live-streams a watch above and below, and look for more new setslater this week!Finally for today, let's head north to Sault Ontario for a new video with better audio quality, as local hard rock singer/guitarist Tym Morrison has unveiled another new original song on his YouTube channel! Entitled "Angels of Light", this is about using prayer to help stop COVID-19, though he again used a free trial video program to make this (Windows Movie Maker 2.6 is totally free and still works on Windows 10!) The programmed drums are a little too obvious, but this mid-tempo rocker is well written and has a good melodic base, so give it a listen below, and look for his likely next live-stream on Tuesday!
