Bone Yard 225 Concert Previews, Northern Vibe Festival Lineup Updates, And More!!

This weekend's slate of hard rock concert previews is very quiet, possibly a calm after the storm (so to speak) following the Civic Holiday weekend. I had only seen publically advertised hard rock shows from two acts so far, and one has quietly been cancelled, as Tym Morrison is not playing at Beck's Bar tomorrow afternoon despite still advertising the matinee show on his own Facebook event page. Rather, former Soundcheck singer/guitarist Cameron Oliver has the honours as he continues his local farewell run before his teased move to Nashville. Keep that in mind for country fans, and while I don't know what happened with Tym's show there, he is scheduled to return to Beck's on September 28th, and he will be live again next week!

As such, here's this weekend's only known hard rock previews, as southern hard rock trio Bone Yard 225 have a split weekend with two very different shows, starting with their one-night-only return to Reggie's Place TONIGHT! After spending most of July on the road or at festivals, this will be their first show at the venerable Queen Street East nightclub since late June, and hopefully Greg, Alex, and Warren keep the good vibes going with this latest "sermon"! If you want to enjoy their southern fried rock covers (and three originals) indoors this weekend, this is your sole chance, as their concert on SATURDAY NIGHT is very different, namely their role as headliners of Algoma Tree Services' community meet & greet for a second straight year! After replacing Soundcheck as this event's featured act last year, your local 225 are back at the company's Goulais River headquarters on Saturday for this publically attendable event.

This annual event will feature a charity barbecue as well as a bonfire, a meet & greet with Algoma Tree Services staff, and family activities, so there will be a lot to take in! Like last year, classic rock veterans Angry Joe & The Growlers (who have been playing this event longer than Bone Yard) will open the proceedings at 1:30 PM before "the dirty three" headline at 7:00 PM. This is a free event at 1313 Haviland Shores Drive, and 9&10 News is currently calling for weather ranging from 25-29° tomorrow, with mostly cloudy skies. However, be advised that there is a 30% chance of rain during Bone Yard 225's scheduled 7:00-11:30 PM timeslot, so keep tabs on your preferred weather forecast for updates. Tonight's Reggie's show is at 9:30 PM with no cover charge and a 19+ age limit, and if you're curious, country music veteran Leslie Cook will be playing at Reggie's tomorrow night.

Visit the above links for more on both Bone Yard shows this weekend, and for a preview, here's a new video from their Kirkland Lake show to close last month's Stéphane Léveillé Memorial Poker Run there! Live-streamed by attendee Marcy Catherine (so you have until Wednesday to see it unless she converts it to a regular video) and shared to their Facebook page, this features the guys covering Golden Earring's "Radar Love" at their Royal Canadian Legion hall, and true to form for their live renditions, the 9:49 length is apt! Sadly, this video is vertical (let alone a now-time limited livestream), but Greg and crew are in fine rocking form in this rare stop at his hometown, and fans were definitely into it, so check everything out below!

Next up, here's some lineup clarifications for the Northern Vibe Festival's Forest Stage over the August 23rd weekend in nearby Ophir! First, regarding debuting local alternative/punk quartet Spun Out, I can confirm that their guitarist is Joe Skouris, a relative newcomer to local bands. Thanks to bassist Ryan Disano (an alum of Caveman Morrison like frontman Dean Duguay is) for confirming his identity with me earlier this week! As for the drummer, as best as I can tell, it's Disciples Of Rock/Stoned To Deaf alum Jamie Labreche behind the kit. Joe's an unknown yet, but this should be a solidly talented band, so keep them in mind in two weeks! The advertised Josh Norling Psycho Jazz Infusion have been renamed to The Josh Norling Quartet, with this promotional image from the festival's Facebook page confirming that they play jazz and standards, while downplaying the prior psycho branding. With they & SoundSxvad both getting fresh confirmations of their festival involvement this week, who is left?

Of the bands from April's tentative lineup, Northern Vibe organizers still have not plugged touring bands Hellrager and Don't Tell Sarah and locals Rob Speers, The CSWS Crew, and "Benny's Acoustic Thing" anew, so if Spun Out have replaced one of the five, we'll likely learn in due course based on who isn't freshly promoted with a new promotional picture or shared link (this is how the festival lineup was officially confirmed last year too, if not the days and timeslots until that week). Stay tuned for more when it rolls in!

Finally, here's a new jam session video from Sault Michigan hard rock/punk trio About:Blank's Facebook page in May! Apologies for the delay in this making the site, especially as it features the guys working on a new original song named "Why". This video isn't the easiest thing to watch for two reasons: non-ideal band member placement (we're staring behind Parker for most of it, who is completely obscuring Kade from view), and the baffling decision to upload this horizontal video into vertical letterboxed dimensions, rendering it tiny. How do so many bands upload videos like that? However, About:Blank sound good here, and Parker lets off some impressive screams late in this 72 second sampler, which kinda sounds grungier than I'm used to them sounding from prior videos. We still have (at least) two live concert videos of theirs to share in upcoming posts, but check out their "Why" jam for yourselves below!

LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS (Bone Yard 225) & A Locally Relevant Cover Song!!

Today's post covers a bunch of LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS from a prominent local band as they book up their remaining dates for the summer, while a cover of local note ends things. Here's what you should know!

While local southern hard rock trio Bone Yard 225 aren't playing at Rotaryfest again this year, they're staying busy with new show announcements for next month, so where can you see Greg, Alex, and Warren in August? All of these shows were announced on the band's website's calendar, and follow two private gigs and two tour dates, one being at Thessalon's Community Days on August 1st and the other actually already having taken place, that being the Motorcycle Poker Run in Kirkland Lake (a whopping 7 hours northeast of the Soo) this past Saturday. Props to them for supporting the cause and making that far of a drive! Frontman Greg Simpson used to live in Kirkland Lake, and he even did a radio interview with CJKL 101.5 on their morning drive show the previous day too. In terms of the new concerts, Bone Yard's next local date will take place on Friday, August 8th when they rock Reggie's Place!

The guys will also headline there on August 29th & 30th for the Labour Day long weekend, so fans of this prominent downtown venue will like that your local 225 are returning there a few times next month! If you're wondering why Bone Yard aren't playing at Reggie's on Saturday the 9th, it's because they are returning as the headliners at this year's Algoma Tree Services community meet & greet/charity barbecue that night! Like last year, expect Bone Yard to rock out at 7:00 PM with classic rock veterans Angry Joe & The Growlers also returning as the lead-off band at 1:30 PM, and alongside the music and food, there will be family activities, a staff meet & greet, and a bonfire. Keep this public outdoor event in mind at 1424 Haviland Shores Drive in Goulais River next month! After another Thessalon road trip (a second straight gig at the Aubrey Falls Trading Post Pig Roast), they have two charity gigs lined up in late August.

On Thursday, August 21st, "the dirty three" will perform at the Cruisin’ To End MS motorcycle show at the newer A&W at 659 Great Northern Road, so hopefully the weather holds up for this outdoor fundraiser event for multiple sclerosis! Expect some vendors and refreshments along with MS Canada donations and promotions, plus the bike show, far from the first such event that Bone Yard 225 have been involved in at a local A&W. Lastly for their August calendar, Bone Yard will rock the returning Dragonfly Run motorcycle rally for the Algoma Regional Community Hospice on Sunday, August 24th, as it returns for its third year since rebranding from the Ride For ARCH and second at its current homebase at The Grand Gardens North. Bone Yard remain heavily involved in the Dragonfly Run's organization, and this special charity concert should also feature family activities, vendors, a silent auction, and games like last year, though keep tabs for updates.

No word yet on the full band schedule, but last year, Bone Yard played at 5:00 PM sandwiched between Mid Life Crysis and the recently-dormant The Haze, with bands beginning at 2:00 PM. Only the Reggie's shows next month are 19+ with 9:30 PM start times. The Algoma Tree Services event begins at 1:30 with Bone Yard at 7:00 PM, and the A&W sets begin at 6:00 PM. We'll close this post with a nod to tomorrow night's cancelled Headstones show at The Roberta Bondar Pavilion, as I was saving a cover of theirs with a local relevance for our preview of the event. Alas, I was writing up the preview when I found out that the concert was off! In 2019, the Kingston punk/alternative veterans recorded a cover of Gordon Lightfoot's "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" as a non-album single. Of course, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sunk in Whitefish Bay in 1975, just 15 miles from the Soo, and the ship's loss remains a vivid memory for many in the Twin Saults and area almost 50 years later. While Hugh Dillon and crew aren't local, their website's page on the cover notes that they found the original song "profoundly meaningful", and it got strong feedback from fans when it was played at VIP soundchecks. For the single release, they even shot an official music video for the cover, so what should you know there?

In the video, Headstones members are seen walking across ice covered waters while footage of ships, shorelines, and the wreck itself are seen in between, eventually transitioning to the band performing outside at nighttime. The cover is very Headstonesy and would fit in well with their original radio hits, and drives around at a steady clip that rocks up the song but doesn't distract from the somber tone. The harmonica comes in at a good time too! Whether The Headstones would have covered the song here tomorrow, I don't know (Setlist.fm last logs them playing it in a regular set in 2023), but the local relevance is noted regardless. LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS (Bone Yard 225)!!

Local southern hard rock trio Bone Yard 225 have updated their website's concert calendar to reflect their slate of summer concerts taking place in August, so when can you check them out then? Their first show that month will be out of town, as they'll be heading 90 minutes east to Thessalon to play at the Aubrey Falls Trading Post & Outpost Camp on Saturday, August 3rd for their Civic Holiday weekend pig roast. Thessalon is outside of our coverage range, but hopefully this show goes well despite the atypical venue, and keep it in mind if you're in Central Algoma moreso! And yes, it is that Aubrey Falls, namely Bone Yard singer/drummer Greg Simpson's old That's Chester bandmate. Your local 225's first truly local show of August 2024 will see them rock Algoma Tree Services' sixth annual community meet & greet/charity barbecue on Saturday, August 10th! This will be Bone Yard's first ever appearance at this event.

Readers may recall that the musical entertainment at the Goulais River-based business over the past two years was local classic/hard rock cover quartet Soundcheck and classic rock band Angry Joe & The Growlers, and according to their website's calendar, Bone Yard 225 will be replacing Soundcheck as the headliners this year for unannounced reasons. In the past two years, I didn't hear a peep about this event until after it took place, so kudos to Bone Yard for publicizing it, and hopefully lots of money is raised for the Kiwanis Club that weekend! The Growlers kick things off at 1:30 PM with Bone Yard headlining at 7:00 PM, and there is no cover for this public, outdoor, and all ages event. Click here for more updates! On Friday, August 16th, Greg, Alex, and Warren will hit the road (if still nearby) to perform at the opening night of this year's Laird Fair outside of Echo Bay! 

The Laird Fair (a.k.a. the North Shore Agricultural Fair) is new to me as SMS coverage goes, but music is not new there, with last year's featured act being local country singer Mark Tarantini and his solo band. If similarly staged/plotted, Bone Yard 225 will rock a covered stage at the fairground site at Lake George Road East at 9:00 PM. Specifics on this year's fair are not out yet (follow their Facebook page for updates), but this should be an all ages event, and I didn't see reference to a cover charge last year. See above for more on the 2024 fair so far! On August 17th and 31st, Bone Yard are slated to go "uncorked", but not at one of their usual two acoustic haunts, as they'll rock Gino's Fired Up Kitchen & Bar at 1076 Great Northern Road for the first time on those Saturday nights! Gino's (which re-opened after heavy remodeling early last year) began hosting live musicians on weekends on their patio this past Friday.

So far, Gino's has welcomed Matthew James and Leslie Cook for shows at their covered patio (apparently the largest one in town), and while there is a roof on the patio, one imagines that live music will only be a seasonal thing if Gino's keeps it going into 2025. Will hard rock-leaning acoustic performers beat Bone Yard 225 to the Gino's stage before August? Stay tuned, but both of their shows are 6:30 PM affairs with no cover charge or stated age limit. The Gino's dates sandwich two shows elsewhere in August, starting with Bone Yard's return to the second annual Dragonfly Run (the rebranded/re-organized Ride For ARCH) on Sunday, August 25th! Their concert events move from an outdoor stage outside of Jay's Piston Broke Pub to The Grand Gardens on Great Northern Road this year, and Bone Yard 225 knows the new locale very well via their involvement in the annual Toystock charity concerts there in November.

Of course, the Dragonfly Run is a motorcycle rally supporting the Algoma Regional Community Hospice, which has attached community events to support ARCH, the concert included. No word on who else will be playing, but Bourbon Blue offshoot Nicky & The Southpaws and alt-rock band The Haze (née Skinbox) also performed last year. Just for the record, I am not getting into the recent controversy over this event vs. the unrelated ARCH Run that Jay's Piston Broke Pub is hosting the previous day at/outside the Korah Road venue, but if you want to read the Dragonfly Run organizers' statement about why they didn't return to Jay's for 2024 and their view on a competing rally/festival that same weekend, click here. Expect family activities, a bike show, and yes, the rally proper based at The Grand Gardens on August 25th, and this is an all ages event as usual.

There is no cover unless pledging/riding in the rally, with Bone Yard 225 playing at 7:00 PM. Lastly, the guys will return to The Water Tower Pub for one more "uncorked" show on Friday, August 30th as they kick off the Labour Day long weekend! As usual, that one-nighter has an 8:00 PM start time, no cover, and a 19+ age limit. Like last year, Bone Yard 225 are prioritizing special events over normal nightclub gigs to end the summer, so there's a lot to take in as such with their classic, hard, and southern rock cover attack, so see above for more details, and look for more news and notes on the site this week! Two New Album Releases, A New-Ish Punk Project, And More!!

Before we begin today's post, I wanted to apologize for missing a show in this past weekend's concert previews, as local classic/hard rock cover quartet Soundcheck played for a second straight year at Algoma Tree Services' annual community meet & greet outside of their homebase in Goulais River on Saturday night. Like last year, they joined classic rock band Angry Joe & The Growlers for this Kiwanis Club children's charity event, which was publically open with family activities. Also like last year, Soundcheck did not publicize their involvement on their Facebook page, though Algoma Tree Services did. I profusely apologize once again, I'd have covered it had I known, but hopefully things went well despite the forecast!

Now, today's post otherwise looks at some recent videos and updates from an array of local musicians, starting with new album releases, one being from a new addition to our band links, namely local rapper Tristan "Bold Noize" Goslow! While active locally since at least 2015, Tristan (who originally rapped as "White Noize") only crossed our radar on multi-genre events that he performed at, such as the old Sky's The Limit mental health fundraiser concerts, The Soo's Got Talent in 2018, and that year's Rotaryfest Stage 2. That changed once I started covering Lopstock III's SooToday live-stream from late last month, and whether you saw Bold Noize thusly or in person at LopLops, you'll have seen him reveal that he was working on a punk album that was released as planned to major streaming services on Thursday! It is titled "God Save Me", reflecting his faith, with his Christian rap status being more prominent in his early years.

The nine song album indeed features Tristan singing rather than rapping along with full band instrumental tracks, and while I have not seen public credit given to who played guitar and such on "God Save Me", note that he sang along with recordings at Lopstock, as he did for his four proper rap cuts that night. The music on offer definitely leans toward punk way more than nu metal, and I was reminded a bit of Machine Gun Kelly's rock output in terms of how Bold Noize approached the shift in genre. Honestly, the songs come through better as punk rock songs via the studio recordings than they did at Lopstock, owing to the pre-recorded instrumental tracks being heard & mixed as intended on streaming services. Bold Noize can carry a tune well on the punk songs, and you can hear for yourself how he handles a totally different genre on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube, while the album is definitely on sale digitally for $8.99 on iTunes.

I would suggest that Tristan get a live band going, even if just occasionally, to better reflect the "God Save Me" album/future punk dalliances live, but it's hard to say what his next plans are, as he doesn't update his Facebook page all that often. Beyond "God Save Me", Bold Noize is a skilled MC with a strong flow, as local rap fans over the past decade will be well aware, but how far will he go in the punk realm? It'll be interesting to find out, but I do plan to review this album on the SMS formally in January (we're booked solid through year's end), and check out "God Save Me" above & below!

Next up, here's one more new album release, as local "blue Chinese metal crash punk" quartet Sykotyk Rampage's have newly put out their 69th studio album, fittingly named "69"! The cover artwork obviously gives the title in Roman numerals as "LXIX". While this was released to their Bandcamp page on Saturday, the band gives a release date of September 6th there. hardly a new conceit for their albums since becoming a studio-only band in 2017. Production and personnel-wise, there's nothing shocking to report from their prior album from earlier this year ("Genius Mushrooms With Thoughts Of The Stoned Ape"), but "69" appears to be a normal album without an overarching concept. 19 songs are included, enough to force this to be a double album if printed on CDs, and there are definitely some suitably eclectic titles for longtime fans!

You can buy "69" via digital download for $15 on Bandcamp, and you can stream it for free there as well. A review of this album (if not another album if they surprise us with one beforehand) will likely hit the site in February 2024, given our continued backlog, but it's great to see the Beckers, Shane, and Tony back with more improvised & irreverent bluesy hard rock, hopefully befitting the "69" title for anyone inclined to put on their environ-mental suits! We'll close today with a new live video of local/Toronto pop rock cover veterans The Killer Hooks, courtesy of their set at White Pines Collegiate & Vocational School's 50th anniversary reunion at The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre last week! Odd that they wouldn't have it at the S.C.T.C.... maybe the seats were an issue for mingling Wolverines alumni? The Killer Hooks are the occasionally seen high profile cover band fronted by Gsis Murphy's Tony Marcello, and we have brought them up on the SMS on occasion when they were filmed doing a hard rock cover, though their sets are way more pop rock in tone and focus. I really should go through their own videos at some point to see what heavier tunes they've done since we last talked about them, but this video comes from Mike Blair at 705Live Sound Co., who handled sound at the White Pines reunion.

Uploaded to 705Live's Facebook page on Friday, the video features The Killer Hooks covering Kiss' "I Was Made For Loving You", and if you want to get a dance floor going via a Kiss song, that'd be the one to use! The 42 second clip is obviously abbreviated, but Mike had a nice view of the stage with effective stage lighting to highlight the band nicely, and they handle this song pretty well! I'd have based it more on Kiss' later live versions where Paul sung the verses at full voice, but beggars can't be choosers. Give this Killer Hooks video a watch below!

Molten Imp Updates, New Videos, And Much More!!

Before we begin this post, I wanted to apologize for two missed concerts in our weekend previews, as local classic/hard rock cover quartet Soundcheck played at Reggie's Place on Friday and then a special community meet & greet in Goulais River last night. The band never announced either show on their Facebook page, I was only alerted to them via belated mentions on drummer Glen Thomas' personal Facebook page, and according to him, original Soundcheck drummer Steven Flint returned to fill in for bassist Paul Belair for at least Friday. Other than Steven's return, the Friday show sounds standard for Soundcheck, but yesterday's Goulais River gig was an outdoor event put on by Algoma Tree Services at their Havilland Shores Drive homebase, with Soundcheck and classic rock band Angry Joe & The Growlers bookending a charity barbecue for the local Kiwanis Club's childrens' initiatives.

A bonfire and kids' face painting was also on offer for the Algoma Tree Services event, their fourth annual of this type (if you're curious, last year's installment had The Growlers again alongside Spyder's Web). I profusely apologize for missing both shows, I'd have covered them had I gotten any sort of advance notice on Soundcheck's end, while the Algoma Tree Services meet & greet is new to us in an SMS context and I'll try and keep better tabs on it for next year just in case! Hopefully both shows were a blast for bands and fans alike, and at least the weather held out!

Today's post otherwise features some new live videos, but we'll start with the latest from industrial metal solo act Molten Imp, so what have they been up to in the last two months? Well, on July 25th, Boyd brought the project back to Bandcamp after a two month hiatus (no word on if the intended Soundcloud spotlight was successful) and kicked off the relaunch there by releasing a compilation album called "s/t" (not capitalized), featuring the public songs from their first two virtual 7'' singles "Double Dose (Me)" & "Constable Sewage", plus the prior "Winter XX-XXI" songs and "Millions of Dollars", which did not get the same treatment originally. The two short "Beat" tracks and the "Eat Everything" remix are not on the public track listing, no word on if they'll be included as buyer exclusives like on the original two singles. You can buy "s/t" for $7 on Bandcamp, or stream at least the seven public tracks for free there.

Original albums take precedence for the SMS for reviews, so good thing Molten Imp have a new virtual 7'' single to take note of! On Wednesday, they released the unwieldly named "Frustfressenkummerspeck", a compound word made up of two German words for excessive eating (specifically out of frustration and sorrow respectively). The single as the public sees it has two songs, but it does appear that it will have bonus content for buyers only again, as the description alludes to a "Track 4" that features lyrical contributions by former Winkstinger frontman & Metal Morpheus host Josh Amendola. An earlier Facebook post also alluded to "two new Marquis" songs separate from "my half ass tunes", so make of that what you will. The single was mixed and mastered by prolific local punk musician Mark Rand, and is on sale for $6. As I'm reviewing the new Northwest EP this month, a Molten Imp review is very possible for next month!

Lastly, Molten Imp will reportedly play their first ever concert on Friday, October 21st, Boyd's first since 2019 with the now-inactive AlgomA, and while it will be a Dryer Fire-promoted event, further details are not out yet. We'll keep you posted, but it sounds like Molten Imp are in a good place getting more and more active locally, and if you like electronic noise rock, you should find something to like from Molten Imp's songs so far above!

We'll close today with some new videos from new local rock quartet Westridge, who don't cross our hard rock threshold for full SMS coverage from what I've seen so far, but that doesn't mean they don't have the occasional cover! On Tuesday, August 2nd, they played at The Roberta Bondar Pavilion as part of their Summer Concert Series, and finally posted three videos from their set on Friday, though all run for just a minute each. These include Westridge playing The Guess Who's "American Woman" (albeit just the instrumental bridge), The Tragically Hip's "New Orleans Is Sinking", and as embedded below, Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion". Heaviest band covered, and also the least hazy for visual quality! Solid musical performances on these videos, if not songs that will 100% show off the vocals from what was clipped out of the full songs, so definitely give these a look above and below!

The Sky's The Limit's Return On Facebook, Plus Some New Acoustic Performances!!

Let's end another work week with our 54th straight daily post at the SMS, which is again devoted to videos, including a pair of acoustic renditions and the virtual return of a recent annual concert! Here's what you should know!

As you have probably gathered by now, the fifth annual Sky's The Limit fundraiser concert for Children's Mental Health Week did not take place yesterday as planned due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but Algoma Family Services made due with an online installment on their Facebook page! The Sky's The Limit V would have been held at Korah Collegiate last night, but it's a great idea to migrate the event to a Facebook video so that they can continue promoting mental health awareness with the help of talented young local musicians! The 1 hour+ video starts with an introduction by Algoma Family Services CEO Ali Juma where he talks about their mission, what they offer the community even with offices closed, and what music offers to people, and he even plays a bit of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway To Heaven" to start! A.F.S. counsellor and Dell Bros. bassist Marc Williamson returns as the event's MC to introduce acts.

Musicians were not credited in the description, but who all performs in The Sky's The Limit V? The opening act is singer/guitarist Tianna Legacy, who nicely covers Alicia Keys' "Underdog" and Bill Withers' "Lean On Me". Next up is the surprise reunion of Electric Church frontman Spencer Pine & bassist Elijah Nelson, in the first time I've seen them perform together since this event in 2018! Beau has moved out of town, for what it's worth. The guys cover Thrice's "Hurricane" with a nice injection of soul and emotion, followed by the old Electric Church original "Take Me Away". Given how Marc introduced them, I will stop short of moving Electric Church back to our active band links for now, but it's great to see Spencer & Elijah still playing music! L!me frontwoman Madi Schomogyi follows with covers of Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" and Hedley's "Old School" on vocals & keyboard, and she has a good voice on these renditions too!

Next is former Din frontman Mike Haggith, returning to The Sky's The Limit for the first time in three years (recorded from Thompson, of course), and while not in the exact location of his #LockdownLive sets, the performance quality is as high as on those! Mike performs "MorningStar" from his new album "If Ever Comes The Day" (buy it next week!) and "Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost" from his next album after that, "Bridges". Rapper Tristan "Bold Noize" Goslow performs his original songs "Life I Live" and "Glow" from his new album "Noize.", and his rhymes are smooth and effective as usual! The final performer is singer/guitarist Joely Gough, who debuted in this event last year, and she covers Harry Styles' "Watermelon Sugar" and Lana Del Ray's "Happiness Is A Butterfly" with a nice authenticity! Ali returns with closing remarks at the end, and all of the musicians offer thoughts about mental health and their experiences during their segments.

While not ideal compared to the last four years, this Facebook concert helped make lemons out of lemonade, and it's great to see a who's who of top-line performers from past installments back virtually here! Of past Sky's The Limit headline acts, only The Pixo Control were not represented. There's a nice variety of music to check out from these six acts, and lots of honest remarks about mental health as well, so give The Sky's The Limit V a watch!



 We'll close today with a couple of new Facebook videos from Redundant frontman Justin Langlois, as posted to the local punk trio's Facebook page yesterday! These are acoustic renditions of their original songs "That December" and, as embedded below, "Miles Apart", and they sound good in this form factor! Both songs still retain that punk energy, and "Miles Apart" is particularly effective like this, so give both videos a watch above & below!
