Northern Vibe Festival Fallout, Realignment Project Updates, And A New Silent 9 Video!!

Today's post covers some recent ground from a major summer festival, a band whose album was just reviewed on here, and another summer festival performance, so here's what you should know!

Starting on Saturday afternoon, a slow trickle of updates starting coming in from attendees of the Northern Vibe Festival in Ophir that pointed to major changes to the Forest Stage schedule this past weekend, so what exactly happened? Organizers have not posted an official public statement on their Facebook page, so some of this comes from personal accounts, but props to Spun Out frontman Dean Duguay and Big Finish Band bassist Matt Fronzi for what they shared on social media. As you may recall, this was a rainy weekend, particularly late Friday night and into Saturday morning (granted, a lot of the doom & gloom forecasts on Sunday didn't pan out as badly as projected), but points east of the Soo got hit particularly hard. While the Roost River Stage for EDM performers survived the onslaught from what I am aware, the band-centric Forest Stage was reportedly decimated in that night's rainstorm and was unusable for the Saturday program.

The intense storm hit late in the Friday program and particularly impaired Sudbury-based Tool tribute band Avessel's headlining set, with the band referencing that the night had "an unfortunate end due to the extreme weather" but praised the venue, artists, and vendors. You can see in the video embedded below (of them covering Tool's "Sober" from their Instagram page) that stage equipment was covered in garbage bags, but kudos to them for powering through and still pulling off the Tool sound so well! Hopefully they get an encore in the Soo soon (or at Northern Vibe next year!). With the damage to the stage and sound equipment, folk/country quartet The Golden Scoundrels salvaged the Forest Stage by using their own gear and an impromptu plywood floor "stage" to perform for attendees, and they were joined by three other local acts scheduled on Saturday, including drummer Johnny Belanger's alt-hard rock band Handsome Sandwich, maintaining their five year streak.

Rob Speers' new "party band" The Barbarians (featuring half of Handsome Sandwich) and Mike Haggith & The Big Finish Band reportedly filled out the heavily curtailed bill, with the touring bands, Dark Side Of The Soo, Spun Out, the two rap groups, and Benny's Acoustic Thing all dropping out. Not ideal, especially for Crank Sound Distribution's gear, but thankfully no one was hurt, and props to the Golden Scoundrels for salvaging what they could for fans expecting to hear live bands on Saturday! Fingers crossed that organizers come back stronger than ever for Northern Vibe XI next year, but check out Avessel's Friday night video below, and see above for more on what went down on Poplardale Road this past weekend, good and bad!

Next up, here's the latest from local industrial metal solo act The Realignment Project, who we haven't had talked about much in recent months beyond our "Frustration Sessions" EP review on Saturday, so what has Matt been up to since that came out in April? Unlike with their debut "Afterthought", every song from the new EP has finally gotten the lyric video treatment for the project's YouTube channel, with the last holdout ("Medicated (A Spade Is A Spade)") being embedded below. Matt was already writing new material as of May 17th, and after posting two promotional "Reels" for their first two EPs in the following days, he revealed on their Facebook page on June 2nd that their next EP will be called "War Songs". You can see him tracking some material on a computer from the sessions in this "Reel" posted two days later. On June 16th, Matt indicated that he was trying to write lyrics that day, and a June 18th "Reel" featured a song-in-progress named "Bones And Dust", but I'll hold comment until the full song is released.

Matt was tracking vocals for this EP on July 1st, and he revealed the track listing in the above image on July 7th. Mixing was underway as of July 10th (the day that he wrote the first song for T.R.P.'s fourth EP), and tracking 100% wrapped up on July 13th, but we await further details on the EP. Given the quick turnaround between EP releases (though we've been waiting longer for "War Times" than we had to for "The Frustration Sessions"), this could drop on major streaming services at any point, though due to our 6 month anti-bias buffer period, we won't be reviewing the new EP until February 2026 at the earliest. Stay tuned for updates from The Realignment Project, and here's the "Medicated" lyric video!

Finally, here's an overdue highlight video of local classic/hard rock cover quartet Silent 9's set at Rotaryfest Stage 1 on the Friday last month! Uploaded to their Facebook page, this video combines footage shot from multiple filmers (not all vertical but shoved into the vertical dimensions regardless) during their set, and you can see them covering clips of No Doubt's "Spiderwebs", Michael Jackson's "Beat It", Van Halen's "Panama", and Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk". We don't see substantial footage of any one song here (especially not "Panama"), but Jess, Ryan, Paul, and Steve put in a lively and energetic performance in their Rotaryfest return, so check everything out below!

That's all for today, but stay tuned for this month's YouTube Channel Profile next! Thanks everyone!

LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS (Northern Vibe Festival 2025!!)

In a major change in approach from past years, The Northern Vibe Festival's (tentative) Forest Stage schedule was publically revealed yesterday via their Facebook page, meaning that we can formally give the Ophir-based outdoor concert festival's 2025 lineup the LOCAL CONCERT ALERT treatment with advance notice to spare! Since the J.D. Pearce-curated era began for the Forest Stage in 2021, the band schedule has never been publicized any sooner than the week of the festival (and not at all in 2021 or 2022 by festival organizers), but this has slowly been improving, and I'm glad to cover things nice and early! Even if the intent was to ensure that you have to be there for the whole thing, I'd still wanna know who's playing on what day and when.  So, who all will grace the stage at the former Hempfest grounds on Poplardale Road this year? As of yesterday, all acts from April's tentative lineup (possibly sans one) are still scheduled, plus late additions Spun Out, so who's on & when?

The shorter Friday lineup on August 22nd will be headlined at 10:00 PM by Sudbury-based Tool/A Perfect Circle tribute band Avessel in their local concert debut, which isn't a bad spot for them to make a first impression on Algoma District fans! Avessel are Friday's only touring band, and with the fire lighting ceremony (remember the impressive bonfire?) coming in between, the Friday co-headliners are new local jazz/standards group The Josh Norling Quartet at 9:00 PM. Hard rock quintet HeadF1rst will make their Ophir debut at 8:00 PM, and the day's program begins with hip hop performers, including Fvcksxvad/Sound Syndrome supergroup SoundSxvad at 7:00 PM and online page-less collective The CSWS Crew at 6:00 PM. Very eclectic musical lineup for night #1, but there's a lot of talent to be had whether you're into rock, rap, or jazz, so don't miss out next Friday as the tenth annual Northern Vibe begins in style!

As for the longer Saturday, August 23rd program, organizers have similarly given the 10:00 PM closing duties to this year's other tribute band, namely local Pink Floyd tribute (and Bourbon Blue side project) Dark Side Of The Soo, while the highest slotted touring band at 9:00 PM are Niagara Falls prog/improv rock band The Road Waves in their fourth appearance at Northern Vibe and first in three years. Local alt-hard rock quartet Handsome Sandwich will become the only band to play on the Forest Stage in all five years of the J.D. era at 8:00 PM, while touring bands from Cornwall will return in the preceding two timeslots. Hard rock band Don't Tell Sarah (who played last year) are up at 7:00 PM, while speed metal veterans Hellrager (featuring ex-Spades GT guitarist Jay Sarrazin) will return at 6:00 PM, following their 2023 set in Ophir and their quiet withdrawal from last year's event.

Fellow (Jack) Spades alum Johnny Belanger will play his first of two sets that day at 5:00 PM with folk/country band The Golden Scoundrels, who also played here last year, while the 4:00 PM timeslot belongs to local/Barrie alternative/hard rock standout Mike Haggith & his Big Finish Band in their third straight year on the Forest Stage. Questions arise with that afternoon's band slots, starting with "Barbarians" at 3:00 PM. I am not 100% certain on who this band is, but one possibility is the Vancouver speed metal quartet of that name. Note that former Elements/Wyld Stallyns frontman Rob Speers is the only absent name from the April lineup posting on this schedule, so could The Barbarians be a new band of his? Regardless, we'll let you know when more is publically confirmed! The 2:00 PM slot is listed as "Bingo Break", and barring this being a Rob Speers-led project, could that legitimately mean that bingo is being played for an hour?

Again, when more is confirmed, we will let you know on if Bingo (Break) is literally a band's name-o or if you'll need your dabbers for the occasion! New local alternative/punk quartet Spun Out (featuring Caveman Morrison, Half Past, and Disciples Of Rock alumni) will make their live concert debut on the Forest Stage at 1:00 PM, and the Saturday lineup will be led off at 12:00 PM by "Benny Acoustic Set", previously labelled as "Benny's Acoustic Thing". I have a hunch as to who Benny is, but no concrete proof in writing, so I'll leave it there for now, but he should get things off on the right unplugged foot if I have the right guy! Assuming that organizers continue posting promotional images for individual bands on their Facebook page in the next two weeks, we should eventually know more on The Barbarians, Benny, and (if this is a band) Bingo Break, so follow along there for potential updates!

The concurrent & DJ/EDM-centric Roost River Stage schedule was also released on Friday, so click here to see who's performing there next weekend. Tickets for The Northern Vibe Festival remain on sale for $125 (full weekend) and $80 (Saturday only) at this link, so if you haven't bought yours yet, do so while you still can! The festival takes place rain or shine, it is 19+, and while Sunday the 24th is part of the schedule, that's the camping/pack-up day with no scheduled bands. Click here for full details on expectations, ground rules, and directions to what should be a blast in the bush next weekend, visit the above links for more on this year's Forest Stage lineups, and look for more on the SMS soon! Thanks everyone!

Defunct Local Band Profile: SBD

It's now time for this month's Defunct Local Band Profile, as we again look at a past local metal, hard rock, or punk band in order to feature them and their run/material for modern readers! As usual, this month's band was randomly selected, and it gives us a short lived but familiar act from the turn of the 2010s, so here's what you should know on them!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SBD

Hometown: Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Genre: Grunge/Psychedelic/Experimental Rock

Lineup:

Dann Pichette (No Arrow), vocals/guitar
Brad Griffith (Bizotic), bass
Shane Triplett (The Chintzy Slicks), drums

Audio/Video: SBD released one album named "Sonic Experiments", which was sold for $10 in a limited print run at their debut concert at Foggy Notions (now Coch's Corner) in May 2010. It was later slightly revised with a "Mulligan Edition" re-release that August at a return headlining date there, with the jewel cases even wrapped in tinfoil for sale that night. A mixture of songs from the album, alternate versions, and unreleased material can still be heard on SBD's Soundclick page, and a wide array of videos can be seen on their YouTube channel, including their "Rock Paper Scissors" jam session video series, numerous live videos from Foggy's, and some Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd covers. Select SBD videos, mostly re-uploads, can be found on Dann's YouTube channel as well. Here is SBD playing one of their heavier originals "It Just Won't Work" at their live debut!

Info/Analysis: Publically launched in December 2009, late in Dann & Brad's grunge/alternative trio No Arrow's run, SBD (named for its members first initials) were a distinct but still familiar act that built on No Arrow's sound with psychedelic and experimental styles, which came through in some of their videos' post-production effects. While best remembered today from their series of gigs at Foggy Notions in mid-late 2010, they also competed at May 2010's Downtown Showdown battle of the bands at The Oddfellows Hall, and opened at RedD Monkey's Green Christmas Party that year. However, SBD would drop out of all announced gigs in 2011 and focused solely on releasing new songs and videos that year before going on an indefinite hiatus, though Dann did post posthumous material on YouTube until 2013. I liked what SBD brought to the table, though they were definitely more experimental and trippy than No Arrow with less heavier tracks, and I did notice that many originals trailed off late and ran too long.

As an evolution of No Arrow, SBD had a solid base of originals and unexpected cover choices that I think had more legs locally had they stuck around as a live act into 2011, though with Dann & Brad (a.k.a. Wayek & Gortium85) expanding their musical presence via the independent/DIY musician communities on YouTube and social media in the 2020s, complete with No Arrow's "Souls For Sale" finally getting released earlier this year, could "Sonic Experiments" and other SBD material see a similar second life? Follow what they've been posting online and submitting regardless!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you guys liked this month's Defunct Local Band Profile! Next month in this series, our next randomly selected profile will be on late 1990s local punk veterans Room 206, who had some high profile resurrections over the years, so look for that on or around September 10th, and for more news and notes on the site this week! Thanks everyone!

Defunct Local Band Profile Series: AlgomA

It's now time for this month's Defunct Local Band Profile, as we again check out a local metal, hard rock, or punk act from the past in order to profile their run and activity for modern readers! This month's randomly selected band is one of the most prominent metal bands to come out of the Algoma District in the 2010s, so here's what you should know on them!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AlgomA

Hometown: Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Genre: Doom/Sludge/Stoner Metal

Lineup: (The stage names were primarily used in social media postings in 2013-2014, and were dropped outright by 2015)

"Marty Chase" Kevin Campbell (BeeFMouTH), vocals/bass
"Darby Wigwaus" Boyd Rendell (Molten Imp), vocals/guitar
"Geezer D'Artagnan" Jamie Vincent (Fuller), drums

Audio/Video: AlgomA released four albums on physical media in a three year span in the mid-2010s, though only their debut (October 2014's "Reclaimed By The Forest") saw a CD release. In April 2016, AlgomA released a split with Saskatchewan stoner quintet Chronobot on vinyl records, and they put out another vinyl split in January 2017, this time a single with Finnish doom metal band Hooded Menace. Their final release in September 2017 was one more split named "Trading Faces", this time physically exclusive to cassette tapes, featuring them & local grindcore trio Shit Liver covering various punk and metal songs, including a song of each other's. Note that AlgomA's studio release catalogue comprises of just 12 songs, but the average length of each song is 6+ minutes! While there are some fan shot videos out there from live concerts on YouTube and Facebook, the band's YouTube channel and Boyd's video production company 62nd Chamber Media's channel are the best sources for AlgomA videos nowadays. Here's a full AlgomA concert set at the former Oddfellows Hall in 2014!

Info/Analysis: Publically launching in November 2012 as much-belated successors to Boyd & Kevin's old band BeeFMoutH, AlgomA debuted at 180 Projects on Gore Street in March 2013. While not as prolific as other local bands for amount of concerts (never playing more than five public local gigs per year), AlgomA made their mark opening for familiar touring bands like The Golers, Biipiigwan, Fuck The Facts, and Beaver Slap during their run, often under their own agencies Oh, Right Arm! Promotions and Six. Two. Oh., while also mounting multiple mid-2010s Ontario tours, a Quebec tour in December 2016, and a European tour in the spring of 2017. Partially thanks to their label affiliation with Malaysia's Deadbeat Media, their discography was well covered & reviewed by international metal websites and zines. AlgomA were also known for their series of 2014 private gigs at "Das Bunker", among other varied regional locales.

After taking a 19 month hiatus from live concerts, AlgomA played their final show in May 2019 when they opened for Dopethrone at The New American Pub (their last of seven gigs there). Sporadic social media updates ceased that fall, and the band never re-emerged after the pandemic lockdowns. Bringing local doom metal to heights only otherwise seen via Woods of Ypres, AlgomA's slow and punishing brand of original sludge was a captivating listen, it sometimes cryptically presented, and while Kevin took on more of the vocal load than in the BeeFMouTH days, fans of that band could drop right in after a decade with ease! AlgomA carved a deep local niche in their run, and here's hoping they come back if the time is right!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you guys liked this month's Defunct Local Band Profile! Our next feature in this series will take us a few years prior to local grunge/psychedlic trio SBD, so look for our next randomly selected profile in this series on or around August 10th! That's all for now, but stay tuned for more news and notes on the site next! Thanks everyone!

Defunct Local Band Profile Series: 20 Pack Of Marshmallows

It's now time for our latest monthly Defunct Local Band Profile, as we shine another spotlight on a local metal, hard rock, or punk band from the past, as randomly selected from our band links! This month's choice coincidentally features the former bassist of last month's profiled group (Acention), and while they didn't become concert staples outside of high school functions, they did plant seeds for big things to come from some of their members, so here's what you should know on them!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

20 Pack Of Marshmallows (also known as Manganese, Warning, Wanko Twist, The Curtis J. McKenzie Project, and Restricted Illusions)

Hometown: Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Genre: Hard Rock/Grunge/Metal

Lineup: (Members not in their last full lineup are in italics. This information may be incomplete. Let us know if you can add any former band members!)

Curtis McKenzie (Haggith, Project 421), guitar/vocals
Daniel Horton (Spades GT, Haggith, Eclipse), guitar
Mikey Cachagee (Acention), bass
Daylan Dorricott, drums

Travis McKenzie, vocals/guitar
Darren Vlassoff, drums

Audio/Video: The best surviving place to hear songs from 20 Pack Of Marshmallows/The Curtis J. McKenzie Project is via Curt's old YouTube channel, which has old Dunnplugged concert videos of them playing covers, plus some early original songs. Now-deleted performances by the McKenzie brothers are linked on this page from their Wanko Twist-era Tripod site that confirm more song titles, along with Judas Priest covers. Notably, this prior project is where later Haggith originals like "Wanko", "Loverbeam", and "The Married Massacre" were first written and performed, and they were once planning to record an album named "Battle Royale" featuring their original material. Here is (as they were known then) Restricted Illusions playing "Kiss Me Goodbye" at Sir James Dunn Collegiate circa February 2010!

Info/Analysis: One of the final rock bands to come out of the Dunnplugged program before the Sir James Dunn/Bawating merger in 2010, 20 Pack Of Marshmallows (among its other names) continually featured Curtis McKenzie and Mikey Cachagee in their public lineups. Surviving material 15+ years on isn't plentiful beyond YouTube videos and what's left of their Tripod page, but Curt's 2008-2010 band work is very notable in hindsight for presaging the band Haggith, whose 2012-2016 run (including songs carried over from 2.P.O.M.) largely also featured Daniel alongside Mikey's brother Caleb, and continued the same grunge/hard rock path. Obviously, the guys were in high school then, so the quality of both the performances and the videos compared to what (especially) Curt & Dan have gotten up to since will be noticeably lesser, but the promise was definitely there, and it's worth looking up what they did then to see how they've evolved!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you guys liked this month's Defunct Local Band Profile! Next month in this series, we're heading a few years ahead in the timeline to look at a very prominent local act from the 2010s, namely 2012-2019 doom/stoner metal trio AlgomA! Look for that on or around July 10th, and for more news and notes on the site tomorrow! Thanks everyone!

Defunct Local Band Profile Series: Acention

Here is this month's Defunct Local Band Profile, our recurring series on local metal, hard rock, and/or punk bands from the past, always randomly selected from our inactive band links! For this month, we head back over a decade for a look at a promising band that sadly didn't get too far off the ground, so here's what you should know on them!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acention

Hometown: Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Genre: Hard Rock/Alternative/Post-Grunge

Lineup: (Members not in their last full lineup are in italics)

Dalton James Boissineau (Meant To Last, These Sins Of Time), vocals/guitar
Josh Willet, guitar
Caleb Cachagee (Haggith), guitar/bass
Cayne Cachagee, drums

Danielle Wierzbicki, vocals
Mikey Cachagee (20 Pack Of Marshmallows), bass
Konar Zayet (Suffacation), bass
Jonny Amendola (Half Past, Skeyes Of Seven), drums

Audio/Video: Acention had cited Papa Roach, Evanescence, and Three Days Grace among the groups that they were covering as of their initial launch, and they shared a setlist in June 2012 on their Facebook page featuring covers of the likes of Nickelback, Buckcherry, and Theory of a Deadman, among other hard rock and post-grunge groups, while Dalton had teased posting an unplugged cover of The Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Strip My Mind" at one point. Original songs were also being composed during their active run, but they never played a public concert, and their only posted media is this Facebook video of Dalton & Josh working on an original song with acoustic guitars. It's obviously a very incomplete glimpse of what Acention were aiming for, but there is a promising guitar line here!

Info/Analysis: Forming in the fall of 2011 before making their public launch in April 2012, Acention were comprised primarily of teenage musicians at the time, and posted frequent updates that spring and summer as they worked on their sound and setlist. Postings drastically slowed down from that fall onward, and despite teasing a new original song and some new song lyrics in early 2013, the band would cease updates after a January 2014 post where Dalton cited personal matters and in-band drama for their recent inactivity. It's hard to know how Acention would have sounded as a full/live concern, but their modern rock radio-centric set would have had local fans, and be sure to follow Caleb & Jonny's more recent bands!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you guys liked this month's Defunct Local Band Profile! In a coincidence that I absolutely did not plan (I use a random number generator to pick bands in this series), our June profile will be of former Acention bassist Mikey Cachagee's prior hard rock band 20 Pack Of Marshmallows! Look for that on or around June 10th, and for more news and notes on the site this week! Thanks everyone!

Steel City CollectorCon Pre-Party/HeadF1rst Album Release Concert Review!!

After way too long, here's a new concert review on the SMS, as I was in attendance for last night's HeadF1rst-headlined Steel City CollectorCon pre-party at Soo Blaster! Beyond the bands, this was a special event to hype up today's comic/collector's convention at the Quattro hotel, and there were vendors on hand selling clothing, crafts, and even tattoos(!) before and during the sets! Headf1rst and Mike Haggith were selling band merchandise as well (no table for Handsome Sandwich that I noticed), but all three bands' newest CDs were offered in the raffle draw. I can't speak for what was said and took place during the VIP-exclusive function after HeadF1rst's set, but hopefully we'll learn more on that front soon! Good turnout of concertgoers as well! Your openers were local/Barrie alt-hard rock musician Mike Haggith and his backing group The Big Finish Band in their first concert since The Soo's Got Talent finals at the same venue last fall, but they had a slight change.

Rhythm guitarist Elly McWatters recently suffered a rotator cuff injury and was wearing a sling last night, so Mike played guitar instead (aside from the closing song), while Elly still took part on backing vocals and playing the tambourine. Hopefully she gets well soon! Mike & crew blasted through a 45 minute set of recent originals from Mike's solo back catalogue like "The Best You Never Had", "Hot & Cold", and "The Nature Of The Times", plus a couple of newer cuts like "I Really Hope This Gets To You", and everyone fired on all cylinders with an energetic blast of rock led by Mike's deep, melodic vocals and strong lead guitar work from Chris Nielsen, while Matt Froni laid some booming bass lines throughout, and drummer Brandan Glew was up to his usual standards behind the kit. Good stuff all around, and hopefully we see Mike & The Big Finish Band (with Elly healed up) again soon!

The middle band last night was alternative hard rock band Handsome Sandwich in their first own first show of the year, but they played as a four piece, with rhythm guitarist Brandon Ruch absent. I am not 100% sure if he was just not available last night or if he left the band, but note that their current cover photo on their Facebook page (updated in October) is from a show with his predecessor Mitch Sirie. Brandon had joined Handsome Sandwich in January of last year, and seemed to fit in well, but if he has left, hopefully things are amicable, and remember that he is still in new local country band The Golden Scoundrels with drummer Johnny Belanger!

Regardless of what's going on with their second guitarist position, Handsome Sandwich delivered a fun set of new and old originals to wrap up their seven+ month break! Alongside songs from their debut CD "Deconstructed" like "Monkey", "Conquest", and "Bitter", we also got to hear cuts from their upcoming EP (possibly named "Collage"?), including "Partyfuel", "Change A Bit", and "All Done Now". Taylor Emlaw's distinctive, cutting vocals led the way, with a stage presence this time that reminded me a bit of Joe Cocker (this isn't a complaint), and both Johnny and bassist Rafael Medina held up their end of the bargain on the rhythm and low end! The lack of a rhythm guitarist was noticeable compared to their five-piece shows since Rafael joined, as the guitar riffs and melodies were quieter with just Jesse Cook playing, but if you like Handsome Sandwich's unique yet relatable original songs, you'll have enjoyed things!

Your headliners last night were the newly renamed Headf1rst (with a 1, not an I) in their album release party, so this was your first chance to buy their new studio album "Road Trippin'"! We'll have more on the album proper on the site soon, and yes, it will be this month's CD review on the SMS. All nine songs from the album made their setlist last night (albeit not in track listing order), as well as two holdovers from their 2024 debut EP "Head Trauma" and a surprise cover of The Killers' "When You Were Young". If you haven't seen HeadF1rst live, their hard hitting and classic-influenced brand of hard rock was a crowd pleaser, with Red Jettison's well suited vocals and very active stage presence keeping things lively, making up a lot of the slack during their set! Raine Rancourt's lead guitar work was excellent, shredding it up with the best of them, and while Claire and Liam could be a little stiff up there, they performed well!.

A fun, promise-filled, and adaptable group, HeadF1rst kept the good vibes rolling all night and gave their album the best launch possible, so definitely check them out at their next dates, local or otherwise! This was a fun collection of local talent, and while not emphasized at all in marketing, it is nice to see that all three bands have mixed gender lineups (Elly's injury acknowledged). More women in local rock bands is certainly welcomed! You can check out my photos and videos from last night's concert at this link or at our Facebook page, and as for videos, here's Mike Haggith & The Big Finish Band playing "Back Away Slowly", Handsome Sandwich playing "Without You", and HeadF1rst playing "Tour Bus Fantasy"!

That's all for now, but stay tuned for more news and notes on the site tomorrow! Thanks everyone!
