LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS (The 3 Day Millionaires & Tym Morrison), Plus The Vaultry Concert Preview!!

With July now in full swing, let's preview a busy slate of hard rock and punk concerts over the coming days! We're splitting things up into two posts due to the amount, so if you were hoping for previews of this weekend's Uncle Ray, Din/Sianspheric, or Highway 63 concerts, they are coming in our next post, I promise! Now, here's what you should know on the first batch of this weekend's shows, starting with SHORT NOTICE LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS!

With another month now in progress, we're adding former Caveman Morrison frontman Tym Morrison's July slate of acoustic hard rock show at Gliss Steak & Seafood to our concert listings, and that includes gigs TONIGHT, TOMORROW, and SATURDAY! Apologies for the short notice on this weekend's shows, they were only announced via the official Facebook event page on Monday. Yes, the previously hinted return to thrice weekly concerts at The Quality Inn's house restaurant is now official, keeping with Tym's recent trend of playing three times a week from July-December of a year, before presumably dropping Thursdays again in January, so fans have more chances to hear his unplugged hard rock covers over the rest of the year! As such, we're also adding Tym's shows on July 13th-14th, 20th-22nd, and 27th-29th to our listings, and if you're wondering why the Saturday the 15th isn't included, it's because he announced on his personal Facebook account that he's seeing Iron Maiden in Toronto that same night.

If he's taking the whole weekend off from Gliss concerts for the Toronto trip, we will remove the 13th & 14th shows too, but hopefully he has fun at the Maiden show next weekend, they're an incredible band! TONIGHT, TOMORROW, SATURDAY, and this month's other Gliss shows are 6:00 PM matinees with no announced cover charges or age limits, but remember that this is a formal sit-down restaurant. Check the above links for more details, don't miss out TONIGHT, TOMORROW, or SATURDAY, and here's Tym live!

Next up, local classic/hard rock cover quartet The 3 Day Millionaires will return to the stage when they make their debut at Reggie's West TOMORROW & SATURDAY NIGHT! Again, apologies for the short notice, the band only announced the shows via their official Facebook event page on Monday themselves. After taking a month off from public concerts, this union of Cleveland Steamer, Sneaky Pete, Lucky 13, and Havadder alumni will rock the former Roosevelt Hotel for the first time TOMORROW & SATURDAY, and while I can't confirm if they'll (have to?) add country into their sets to better fit the "Reggievelt", it's great to see The Millionaires expand to some new locales, and hopefully they fit in fine this weekend with their hard rocking covers! A somewhat early start time of 9:30 PM is advertised for TOMORROW & SATURDAY NIGHT's 19+ concerts, which have no cover charge. Check the above links for more details, and here's The 3 Day Millionaires live earlier this year!

Moving to previously announced concerts, local concert promoters Live705's long-hyped punk/rap hybrid concert goes down TOMORROW NIGHT at The Canadian Nightclub, as they take their second stab at promoting a concert with out of town headlining acts! The announced headliners are Victoria, British Columbia alternative/punk quintet Vaultry in their local concert debut, and their melodic punk originals and high energy should be a good compliment when they hit the Canadian tomorrow, so don't miss out on them! Peterborough doom rapper Garbageface (who performed at The New A in February) will co-headline with his own original hip-hop blend, so if you liked him locally in the winter, here's your sequel! A stacked roster of opening acts will be toplined by Live705's resident alt-punk quartet A Dire Setback and Soo York City rapper Rick E (a.k.a. The Pied Eyed Piper), while there is a late out of town band addition, as Toronto pop punk quartet Coach Bombay will also make their local concert debut tomorrow!

Only confirmed on Saturday, Coach Bombay will also join A Dire Setback and Garbageface at their Timmins concert the next day, so there's some intentional synergy afoot. This band combines an up-tempo sound and gruff vocals into a quality package, so don't miss out on them mid-concert! Remaining bands tomorrow will include alternative/hard rock quartet Bizotic, alt-punk/no-genre trio Handsome Sandwich, and rapper Mikey Thomas, who should deliver their own diverse sounds to kick off this show, so don't be late! Taking place tomorrow night at 7:05 PM, admission for this concert is $12 unless you have a voucher (obtained from local performers) for $2 off the entry fee. For the first time since their Oddfellows Hall debut last fall, this Live705 concert is ALL AGES rather than 19+ or their recent 18+ experiment, so come one, come all, and wristbands will be issued for 19+ attendees so they can have an adult beverage if so inclined tomorrow!

With five bands and three rappers, there's an intriguing dichotomy about this concert, but if you saw Garbageface and A Dire Setback's New A show in the winter, this will be old hat. A.D.S. and Live705 spoke highly of Vaultry when the two bands played together in Sudbury last month, and there's a lot of talent and intriguing sounds to be had at The Canadian tomorrow night, so don't miss out at The Canadian, visit the official Facebook event page for more details, and here's Vaultry live!

That's all for today, but stay tuned for our remaining weekend concert previews in our next post by tomorrow morning! Thanks everyone!
