The Bear Hunters - "The Dead Testament" Album Review!!

It's now time for our 138th monthly CD review at The Sault Metal Scene, and final one of 2020, as we're taking a look at local death metal band The Bear Hunters' second studio album "The Dead Testament"! Surprisingly released on their Bandcamp page on November 21st, recording sessions took place between October 2015 and 2018 at Mission Control Studios with producer Dustin Jones, while the album was mixed by Kyle Whittaker at Strange Pumpkin Studio in St. Catharine's, who also mixed albums from such Mission Control-recorded acts as Northwest and The Rising Tide, among others. The Bear Hunters lineup is credited as vocalist Nik Deubel, guitarist Mitch Sirie, bassist Justin Lam, and drummer Johnny Belanger. While early indications had relocated rhythm guitarist Josh Stephney recording tracks for the album, he is not listed on their Bandcamp lineup (note that he has not played live with The Bear Hunters in over four years.)

The album proper and a planned CD release party were both delayed due to personal life concerns and the ongoing pandemic, hence the quiet digital-only release, with customers able to buy it on Bandcamp via a "name your price" model (you can also download & stream it free, but consider paying something to support their work!) The Bear Hunters do hope to sell CDs and give it a proper launch concert when they are able. With 12 songs running for about 54 minutes in length, let's begin this long-awaited album review!

"The Dead Testament" opens with "The Void" (a sequel to "Render This Void", which closed their 2014 debut "Eternal Hibernation"), and there is some odd feedback before the song proper kicks into full gear. I am glad to say that the production quality is much better than on their first CD! Nik's brutal yet well enunciated death growling is front and center on the verses, which are about a torturous fate in the title void that will never end. The guitar riffs are crisp yet have a grandiose feel to them, Justin's bass work fits in fine, and Johnny's drumming adds some strong pounding rhythms. I'd have liked more of a guitar solo, and to a point, I think the song is dictated by the vocals too much, but it's a strong opener! Second is "The Omen", which is inspired by the 1976 horror movie and/or it's 2006 remake. A much faster paced and thrashier song, you wouldn't expect these lyrics on such a fast number!

The guitar melodies on the choruses are so catchy, and Mitch's guitar solo shines brightly when it arrives, while Nik's controlled growling tells the story well, including on his rapid fire recitations after the solo. My big problem with "The Omen" is it's all too abrupt ending, and given the song's relatively short runtime, it came way out of left field. Until then though, this is absolutely a crushing album highlight! Next is "For Glory", which is essentially a rally song for a viking horde (violent warriors, at any rate.) Opening with a brief yet strong guitar solo, this steadily driving song has an Amon Amarth-ish quality, but here, you can clean vocals from Mitch alternating with Nik on the choruses. It's definitely not "Squirrel Buddy", but it's nice to hear Mitch chime in like this, and he has an underrated range! Johnny's drumming is particularly effective for this march, and while the ending is again too sudden, the composition and pacing suit the story very well here!

Track #4 is "I Fear No God", which was this album's premature first single in December 2018, complete with it's own music video. Lyrically about blind faith in religion, even when the world is falling apart, this song has a lengthy introduction before the first verse that I honestly would have trimmed, but the song proper delivers the death metal goods. This is a relatively slower and darker song, but that suits the lyrics, and it still has a brisk pace, with solid growling, great bass work by Justin, and another quality guitar solo. Enjoyable song with evocative lyrics overall! Following is "Servitude", which is about following what others say and demand, and not thinking for yourself. This definitely feels like a song that could have been cut from "Eternal Hibernation", with it's guitar-driven sound and specific distortion, but of course, it sounds better here by default.

Nothing is shockingly unique compared to earlier songs, but it's a good vehicle for Nik's rapid-fire vocals, Mitch and Justin pair well on this song, the guitar solo really lets loose, and the ending actually makes sense for the composition. Not a bad song at all, it's relentless and fits for fans of The Bear Hunters from the start! Next up is "Transcend Judgement", which feels like a companion piece to the prior two songs based on it's lyrics about not blindly following what others demand of you. Very black metal-inspired number at first, with more of an atmospheric sound on the verses, contrasting sharply with Johnny's relentless drum tap-led choruses (admittedly, this can get repetitive.) Mitch's guitar solo has a very 1970s prog vibe to it, if that makes any sense. The closing stretch is more death metal inspired, with some nice guitar flourish, adding up to a very piecemeal song, but still very brutal!

Seventh on the album is "Neckbreaker", which is another seemingly viking-inspired song like "For Glory", this time about the title character's violent pursuits in battle. This is a return to the fast driving style of early tracks, with relentless and purposeful vocals, very solid drumming, a nicely suited bass line, and evocative & very metal lyrics. Another abrupt ending, but this song comes together well otherwise, and everyone delivers in their own way throughout! Afterwards, we get "The Dying Den", which seems to be about struggling to overcome depression or strife, or else be doomed to live in the title location. The distorted intro (which recurs after the guitar solo) wasn't my favourite, but the song proper will please fans with it's aggressive pace and clear lyrics! Very wordy song, admittedly. Everything's paced well, the instrumentation is strong, and it's definitely a strong rhythm showcase!

There are more instantly memorable songs, but The Bear Hunters aren't losing steam yet! Ninth is "Wrath of Angmar", which is inspired by The Lord of The Rings, a series I have never gotten into, but Tolkien fans will appreciate the intricate lyrics! The pounding riff pairs well with Nik's typically aggressive vocals, especially on the choruses, and the ominous bridge before the guitar solos is well handled, if brief. Another abrupt ending, but this song is brutal as you'd expect, even if the lyrical inspiration flies right past me! On the future physical releases, the last non-bonus song is the title track "The Dead Testament", also the album's longest track. Lyrically about a last violent siege against religion. Justin leads off with an isolated, slow bass line before the full band unleashes the fury. Strongly composed, and like with "For Glory", Mitch brings back his clean vocals in compliment with Nik's growling during a few extended choruses.

The first one honestly runs too long, and next two are placed somewhat awkwardly over blast beats, but everything comes together in this regard at the end. I like the progressive and less predictable structure, and the guitar work is the star here, but shorter songs seemed to get the heavy point across better. The album closes with two bonus tracks (unlabeled as such on Bandcamp), starting with the shortest song on offer, "The Forest of Forests", which is a straight-up parody of black metal, with lyrics about how Norwegian forests are dark and cold. It's well handled, especially during the amusing spoken word section, and while this is a parody, The Bear Hunters probably could go full black metal if they chose! Nik's shrieking fits the genre, and it's well written, but again, it's very short. The final track is a re-recording of "Deception" from "Eternal Hibernation". You can hear the original version at this link, and read our review of the original song at this link.

I won't re-review the song proper here, but the re-recording is the same song but slightly longer, and it blows the original version out of the water, largely thanks to much richer, fuller, and less tinny instrumentation, and the guys made the right call to get this thing recorded and mixed where they did! Nik's growling is comparable on both versions though, the vocals came through the best on the first CD. It'd be great to see The Bear Hunters re-record the entire "Eternal Hibernation" album in similar conditions, but who knows where that falls on the priority ladder.

So, what are my final thoughts on "The Dead Testament"? Overall, this is an improvement in every way on "Eternal Hibernation", and it's great to see this finally on sale six years after their debut! The Bear Hunters' chemistry and musicianship is on full display throughout, with Nik's brutal and clear growling a constant presence, Mitch delivering strong riffs and solos, Justin laying down excellent bass throughout, and Johnny providing solid percussion and blast beats where necessary! While not a massive leap upward in compositional quality from their debut, the production and mixing make these songs shine (in a brutal, heavy way), so kudos to Dustin and Kyle for their hard work in giving us the best version of these songs! I like the variance into black and progressive metal on some songs, Mitch's clean vocals added some zest, and the lyrics were all well written for their genre, especially on highlights like "The Omen", "For Glory", and "Servitude", among others.

In terms of criticisms... a few songs seemed to be exceedingly wordy, abrupt endings happened too much, and given how well he complimented Nik, I'd have liked to have heard more of Mitch's clean vocals, but those are all minor. If you love death metal (especially of the local persuasion), you owe it to yourself to buy "The Dead Testament" at the above links, and hopefully they'll have a proper CD release party in the new year, pandemic willing! I hope you guys liked this month's CD review, but what will lead off 2021 in this regard? I have no idea, but our newest "Where Are The New Albums?" post below may give some hints. If no major new albums come out, we'll dip into the archives, but the next review subject will not be any project we've reviewed since August due to our 6 month anti bias buffer. Stay tuned, and hopefully we'll have a new news post on the site soon! Thanks everyone!

LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS (Fort Creek), A Surprise Album Release, And Much More!!

In what will likely be our last news post of this painfully slow month at the SMS, we have some new videos, a couple of bands likely destined for our inactive band links, and a very surprising metal album release. Leading off are a pair of SHORT NOTICE LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS, and while this is a day earlier than usual, keep in mind how slow things have been this month, I have to slot in stories where I can. Here's what you should know!

Local southern hard rock quintet Fort Creek will return to Reggie's West for concerts on FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHT! Apologies for the short notice, these dates were only announced via the band's Facebook page on Monday. One week removed from rocking the downtown Reggie's, this will be Fort Creek's second concert weekend at the former Rosie, following their debut gigs there over a month ago. Like this past weekend, FRIDAY & SATURDAY'S concerts will double as Christmas Cheer donation events, so if you have new/unopened toys or non-perishable food items, bring them with you to the Reggievelt to help those in need over the holidays! You can witness Fort Creek's brand of hard rocking covers on FRIDAY & SATURDAY at 9:30 PM with a 19+ age limit and no announced cover charges, but remember to respect the venue's social distancing protocols. See above for more details, and here's Fort Creek live at Reggie's West last month!

Next up, local death metal quintet The Bear Hunters have finally released their second studio album "The Dead Testament"! Over five years after recording sessions began at Mission Control Studios, and almost two years after the debut of their "I Fear No God" music video, the album was released on their Bandcamp page on Saturday on a "name your price" model, with all twelve previously teased songs present, though "The Forest of Forests" is no longer labelled as a "bonus track". In their new Facebook page posting, the band revealed that "the album has spent far too long sitting here ready to release", but a proper CD release party hasn't taken place due to personal life commitments and the ongoing pandemic. The guys admitted that "proper metal shows are probably still a long way off", and while they did want to finally get the album out there, they hope to be able to sell CDs at a normal live concert and play the album in full there when "the day finally comes".

Of course, The Bear Hunters have only played two concerts since the end of 2017, and until Saturday, they hadn't been publically heard from since the Lycanthro concert in April was cancelled. Though the circumstances certainly aren't ideal, it is great to see "The Dead Testament" finally on sale, and while you can download it for free, consider actually paying something for this labour of love! Not expecting any metal/punk albums to go on sale in November 2020, I already reviewed an archive album for this month, but "The Dead Testament" will be reviewed on the SMS in early December, I promise! Buy or stream the whole thing at the above links!

Also, let's head to Sault Michigan for more new videos from local hard rock quartet Tarnished's Facebook page, where they have been staying busy in in the last few days! Following the reveal of their planned merchandise give-away next month, the guys next uploaded a short video of them driving to the recording studio at night, which has some amusing moments while it lasts! Next was this short video of a band member(?) in a fox mask eating a shirt(?!), while three videos followed where the guys showed off a huge lot of Yooperlites (the syenite rocks found in this region that glow orange under blacklights) that they borrowed from discoverer Erik Rintamaki (yes, the former Half A Man frontman) to make their logo and other designs with. Fun and decidedly local idea, hopefully I'll find even one Yooperlite in my travels!

Lastly, Tarnished uploaded two blooper-reel videos from their merch give-away video shoot, including a short one featuring line flubs from Josh and Nathan. Embedded below is the first of the two, which is also on their YouTube channel, and features failed takes from Alex's appearances in the giveaway video (this and the "On The Road Again" video are the only new ones covered above to be uploaded on YouTube). Fun idea to generate some new content and make light of themselves, so give the blooper-reel videos and more a watch above and below, and also visit the the band's new TikTok page (that's a new one for the SMS!)

Finally for today, I wanted to acknowledge two Sault Ontario-based tribute bands that I will likely be moving to our inactive band links on Sunday due to a year's inactivity, namely Volbeat tribute quintet The Guitar Gangsters and Distillers tribute quartet Coral Fang. I'm lumping them together here because both bands share a common member (guitarist/vocalist Tiffany Stocco), and we last heard from either band when they both took a road trip to Sudbury for a joint concert on November 29th of last year. Naturally, the pandemic could be a big factor into both bands' public hiatuses, but with Tiff and Guitar Gangsters frontman Buzz living out of town, updates would naturally be slower on that basis already. Coral Fang debuted at J.D. Pearce's annual Halloween party in October 2018, and resurfaced at last year's Joni Radford memorial concert and Go Skateboarding Day, while The Guitar Gangsters played their only local date at J.D.'s Halloween party on November 1st of last year.

With familiar supergroup lineups behind both bands, and solid musicianship to make their tribute sets stand out, both Coral Fang & The Guitar Gangsters delivered for their limited live dates, and hopefully we'll see them (and/or their members) on stage again when the pandemic eases up! Best of luck to Buzz, Jesse, Mike, Derek, Tiffany, Chris, Adam, and Johnny in the future! That's all for today, but stay tuned for this month's YouTube Channel Profile next, barring a sudden influx of stories in the days ahead! Thanks everyone!

LOCAL CONCERT ALERT (Telephone & Address), Bear Hunters Updates, And New Videos!!

Before we get into today's post, here's a disappointing update for Pixo Control fans, as the local alternative hard rock trio are no longer playing at The Sheepdogs' concert at The Machine Shop on Tuesday. As announced on their Facebook page yesterday, they cited "a contractual mix up between the venue and the band's management" for the removal, which may bring back memories of Half A Man's exit from the Queensryche concert in Sault Michigan a few years back. Disappointing, but at least there's no bad blood, and look for them as fans at next week's show!

Now, today's news post features a pair of new video finds, and some updates on an upcoming local album, but first, here's another LOCAL CONCERT ALERT for the upcoming Fishbowl Festival of Community, Arts, and Culture at The Gore Street Cafe, as local acoustic punk solo project Telephone & Address will return to the downtown venue for a concert on Friday, February 26th! This will be the first show of the year from the Chris Shoust solo act, and it's good to see Chris back on stage, but might we see some teases of Telephone & Address' next announced albums then? The announced headliners are Sammy D & The Therapy, a new local band from Gore Street Cafe co-owner & Boxes of Boom mainman Sam Decter, who will be joined by Patrick Evans and Mikey S. (full last name unclear), who you may recognize as past hosts of the venue's open mic nights.  I don't know how The Therapy will sound, but they have a talented lineup, and might Patrick and Mikey be the "friends" joining Sam at TONIGHT'S punk rock bingo at The New A?

Like with the other two hard rock/punk-leaning concerts taking place so far at The Fishbowl Festival, admission will be $5 for the show in three weeks time (but you can get in free with the purchase of a $25 pass for all festival activities), there is an early start time of 7:00 PM, and thre's no announced age limit. For more details, visit the official Facebook event page! It's great to see this ambitious arts festival's lineup expanding further, and hopefully this show adds to what should be a fun experience over the month of the Pisces, so check out full current details on this and other Fishbowl Festival events at the above links!

Next up, here's the latest from local death metal favourites The Bear Hunters, so what have they been up to so far in the new year? On their Facebook page last month, the guys revealed that recording sessions were ongoing at Mission Control Studios for their upcoming second album "The Dead Testament", with drums finished as of January 3rd, and rhythm guitar recording in progress as of January 19th. The Bear Hunters also gave some extra hints as to two new originals that will be heard first on the CD and have yet to be played live, noting that "For Glory" is a "thrashy war anthem" and the title track is "by far the most ambitious song we've done yet." Intriguing, we'll have to see how the final product sounds, especially with the expected higher quality recordings! In terms of when we might see the album, the band is not ruling out a late summer release date, but based on the language they've used, that sounds more like a best case scenario.

As for when we'll see them live next, guitarist Mitch Sirie had teased the band's involvement in the second annual VM Radio Battle of the Bands next month on the battle's Facebook event page, but that post was quietly deleted for unannounced reasons. If they are confirmed to be competing, we'll be sure to let you guys know, but the guys have been staying very busy since the fall, and I know fans are eagerly awaiting the finished album! Stay tuned for more from The Bear Hunters & "The Dead Testament" as it rolls in!

We'll close today with new videos, including the first of an intended monthly series from local alternative hard rock trio The Din! An official YouTube channel for the band was recently launched, presumably to continue distinguishing themselves from frontman Mike Haggith's solo work (hence why "Mike Haggith and..." was dropped from their name), and their first video on their new channel is a cover of The Foo Fighters' "Times Like These", the intended first installment of a "Cover of the Month" series there. Recorded in jam session style on a stationary camera, it's a solid rendition of a frequent live track, and fans should enjoy it, so check out The Din's Foos cover below, and stay tuned for more from their camp!

Finally, here's a video of local hard rock quartet Skeyes of Seven that I only just found the other day, courtesy of their most recent concert at The Algonquin Pub on June 5th of last year! Apologies for being so late with this, I'd have shared it then had I known! Filmed by Id Iota frontman Christian Lemay (who also played that gig) and shared on the band's Facebook page a few days later, it captures just 17 seconds of a song from that night, but it's well filmed and has good audio! Too bad Christian didn't post more, especially as this was their second and final show with John Mignacca on drums, but at least this much is online! Give it a look below!

That's all for today, but stay tuned for weekend concert previews next on the SMS! Thanks everyone!

The Return Of Pillory, Bear Hunters Album Updates, And Much More!!

Before we begin uploading photos and videos from last night's Fuck The Facts concert (it's been way too long since my last show), here's a new news post for your Monday morning, including long overdue updates to some of our past feature profiles, a new jam session video, album updates from another band, and first, a band reunion, so here's what you should know!

Local thrash/death metal band Pillory are back! After quietly breaking up last summer, frontman Robert Sartini and drummer Bret Shuttleworth have reunited the band and have begun work on new material, so what should you know? Lineup wise, guitarist Josh Amendola and bassist Devon Lucier are not back from their last full incarnation, with Pillory apparently enlisting former Haggith bassist Jordan Leach for the new lineup, as per recent updates to their Facebook page. Intriguing to say the least, I wonder how Jordan will do on material this heavy? No word as of yet though on a new second guitarist. As well, Bret shared a Facebook video of him and Robert jamming a new Pillory song named "Angst of Existence" on Tuesday, and while it's a little rough and still needs vocals & bass, it sounds promising and has a bit more of a death metal feel than their older originals had! Give it a look below, stay tuned for more, and they're back in our active band links!

Next up, here's the latest from local death metal veterans The Bear Hunters, who will open for Evilheart in tonight's Gonqshow finale at The Algonquin Pub! After prior teases on personal accounts, the band shared the complete tracklist for their upcoming second album "The Dead Testament" on their Facebook page on Friday, and though the exact order is to be determined, it will have 10 songs. We've heard most of them live, but I don't believe we've heard "For Glory" or the title track in concert as of this writing. Also, a 2015 re-recording of "Deception" and their black metal parody "The Forest of Forests" will be included as bonus tracks, but whether they'll be on all copies of the CD, select copies, or a digital exclusive is to be established. The band followed the post by saying that they'll soon be ready to record the album locally with Tidal Records (presumably at Mission Control Studios, though it's not clear if they're signing with the label itself or not yet.)

It sounds like things are in good hands, and hopefully "The Dead Testament" will have an even crisper and more professional sound than "Eternal Hibernation" had! Note however that earlier postings said that this album would have 11 songs, but the band may consider "The Forest of Forests" to be the eleventh. Stay tuned for updates on "The Dead Testament" as they come in, and for our review of last night's Fuck The Facts show featuring The Bear Hunters later today!

Also, here's a new-ish video shared by another band from last night's Fuck The Facts show, local doom/sludge metal trio AlgomA! In reality, this video was posted on frontman Boyd Rendell's YouTube channel in May, but for one reason or another, it's unlisted there, only coming to our attention after the band shared it on their Facebook page yesterday. It's of AlgomA jamming their original "Fell Down A Well", and it's a solid version of one of their early songs with an excellent tight angle of the guys in action! The Facebook share of the video indicated that they'd likely kick off their set last night with this song, but as this was written before the show, did they stick to their word? Give the video a look below, and stay tuned for more from AlgomA (and Boyd's channel) soon!

Finally for today, here's some beyond overdue updates to our Battle of the Bands Rewind profiles (We've slacked on updating any of our monthly feature profiles, so it's time to try and rectify that!) Starting with our profile of 2008's Skid Row Battle of the Bands, I've added a note about March's Speak Easy Battle of the Bands (the first battle to take place at the same venue since 2008), and regarding the section on performers' later bands, I added a band page link for Northwest, updated The Pesto Shirts' name to the current Wild Iris, and replaced Nikkfitt (who no longer feature Scary Uncles alum Andrew MacDonald on bass) with Id Iota, the current band from Free Beer's Christian Lemay and Dustin Goodall. And for our profile of 2008's Case's Music Battle of the Bands, I added updated references to the late Mike Case's hosting of the event, and added a note on Fountain of Betrayal frontman Tyler St. Amour once being listed for this year's VM Radio Battle with Them.

Lastly, I replaced The North Shore, Pillory, and Viva Emptiness in the section for members' later bands with London's The Glass Thieves and Five Oceans (both featuring Caddy Street Avenue alumni), and the aforementioned Them to freshen up the section on performers' later bands, especially as the prior 3 bands are either defunct or don't feature alumni of this battle anymore. I hope to update more posts in this series in the near future, so stay tuned, and look for our Fuck The Facts concert review next! Thanks everyone!

Bear Hunters Album Updates, New Videos, And More Recent News!!

Before we tackle this month's Defunct Local Band Profiles, here's some recent news and notes for your Monday afternoon, including assorted shorter notes, new video postings, and first, here's some big updated for an anticipated new CD!

We'll start with some new updates from local death metal favourites The Bear Hunters, as per guitarist Mitch Sirie on their Facebook page early this morning, so what should you know? In terms of last night's Golers show at The New American Pub (apologies for missing it, blame personal family matters), the guys debuted two new songs during their set, including a track named "The Wrath of Angmar" (which appears to reference a kingdom in The Lord of the Rings), and a black metal parody named "The Forest of Forests". Hopefully someone got video of both! Mitch also noted that the former will be on their planned second CD "The Dead Testament", which will also have a closing title track of the same name that has yet to be completed. The first three songs will, in order, be "The Void", "The Omen", and "I Fear No God", but the track listing order for the rest is to be determined. Title track included, there are just 3 songs left to be unveiled live, though it's unclear whether "The Forest of Forests" will be one of them or not.

Mitch noted that they take their time writing their songs, rather than writing a handful of singles and adding filler for the rest, and he sounds proud of the work the guys are putting in! Plans are still to begin recording sessions on "The Dead Testament" next month and release it during the winter, so check the above links for complete current details on The Bear Hunters' highly anticipated new album!

Next up, here's a newly discovered solo performance video from Pixo Control frontman Michael Mikus, courtesy of local music/culture community Ears & Eyes' YouTube channel last summer, and it's of him covering the 1960s rock classic "Twist & Shout", which is frequently seen in full Pixo Control concerts. Uniquely filmed outside, this solo cover is done in the same style that Pixo Control fans know from concerts, as it's slowed down into more of a jam style, but it's abbreviated from the lengthy version fans hear in live concerts.  Solidly done, and a bit of a window into how this would sound in an acoustic setting, so give it a look below!

Also, here's the newest released cover from new local atmospheric black metal duo Dullahan, this time a cover of Absurd's "Pesttanz"! Set to World War II video footage (don't worry, there's nothing offensive), this was uploaded to their YouTube channel last week, and can also be heard on their Bandcamp page. It's a little repetitive in this form, but Dullahan have talent and they show it on this cover, so give it a listen below and above!

Finally for this post, here's three assorted shorter items from the last while, and as usual, these are in alphabetical order by artist name:

  • An upcoming episode of Local2's stripped down music performance series Bare will apparently star Inner City Surfers/Role Models bandmates Brad "Example" Lacell & Dave Bahun as featured performers, as per personal Facebook photos showing them on playing on the Bare set. Is this a sign that Brad Example & The Role Models are alive, or is this a solo or new project? Hopefully we find out more when this episode is posted in the coming weeks!
  • On Saturday, Detroit punk trio Heroes of Charlotte posted this jam session video of them playing their song "Goodbye", which begins with a shoutout to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, as they can't make the Superior Festival (now on August 21st) that they were originally booked for, but hope to see us soon. I'm not sure if they meant that they couldn't make the original Saturday date or the rescheduling, but it's nice of them to acknowledge that they couldn't play, but wanted to, and hopefully they can at some point!
  • Local musician Tammy Hill is looking for a drummer for her new "classic rock/punk/pop" band, who reportedly already have original material and want to do some recording and play live (no word though on if this is the same band she was looking for members for in February.) If you or someone you know are interested in trying out, message Tammy at this link or via her Musicians Wanted Facebook group post from this morning!

That's all for now, but stay tuned for this month's Defunct Local Band Profiles next! Thanks everyone!
