LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS (Scarkazm And Rhythm & Brews) And Sault Michigan Weekend Concert Previews!!

As promised, let's wrap up this weekend's concert previews with a trip across the International Bridge to see what's going on for heavier fans in the E.U.P..! This includes the previously announced Scarkazm shows in St. Ignace that I completely forgot to put in our concert calendar until now, to which I profusely apologize, but at least I did get the word out for them when they were first announced in a proper post. Before then, we have some LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS for next month, so let's set things up!

Kewadin Casino has updated their entertainment pages on their website to reflect bands at The Rapids Lounge in Sault Ste. Marie and The Northern Pines Lounge in St. Ignace through year's end, and there will be hard rock bands to round out 2022 with at both locations! Before that though, Manistique hard rock duo Fyrbird are not playing at The Northern Pines Lounge on December 23rd & 24th, which may be less of a Fyrbird issue and more that Kewadin isn't booking bands period that weekend due to the Christmas holidays (there isn't a band booked that weekend at The Rapids Lounge either). In any event, the updated concert listings on Fyrbird's Facebook group from November 6th now list them as playing a show in Paradise (ever so slightly out of our coverage range) on December 23rd, so regardless of the reason, they're not playing Kewadin that weekend. Look for Fyrbird back in our neck of the woods in 2023!

We'll cover the New Year's Eve weekend shows in St. Ignace in an upcoming post so as to spread things out and not make this post overlong, but save for Scarkazm this weekend, the upcoming hard rock shows at Kewadin lounges are otherwise all at The Rapids Lounge in the Soo, Tarnished this weekend included. For brand new confirmations, the next heavier shows there will see local hard rock quartet Rhythm & Brews return to the Sault Ste. Marie Kewadin for concerts on Friday, December 2nd & Saturday, December 3rd! These will be Rhythm & Brews' first Kewadin gigs since playing at the same venue almost two months ago, though they will be playing a show in Rudyard next weekend. Rhythm & Brewspost to Facebook very infrequently and have no public videos, but their star-studded lineup of Nixxon Dixxon, 415E, Highway 63, and Clownsack alumni should set the tone well!

As usual for Kewadin lounge gigs, expect these to be 21+ affairs with no cover charges and 9:00 PM start times. Hopefully Brandon, Chris, Brett, and Ron knock it out of the park to kick off December, and stay tuned for our preview of their Huck's gig next week!

Next up, the other new shows we're listing today come just one week later, as Traverse City metal trio Scarkazm will return to The Rapids Lounge themselves on Friday, December 9th & Saturday, December 10th! It's been an unusually quiet middle of 2022 for Adam, Dave, and Jeff in the E.U.P., with their sister band Peril (more on them in our next post) being seen more frequently this year, but that changes TONIGHT & TOMORROW NIGHT, as their previously announced gigs at The Northern Pines Lounge in St. Ignace have finally drawn near! If you're in Mackinac County and want some hard rocking tunes from this long established trio, head to the St. Ignace Kewadin this weekend, or wait three weeks to rock out with Scarkazm in the Soo! Both this weekend's St. Ignace and next month's Sault Ste. Marie shows have 9:00 PM start times, no cover, and 21+ age limits. See above for more details, and here's Scarkazm live!

Finally, here are those concert previews, as local hard rock quartet Tarnished are advertised to return to The Rapids Lounge at the Sault Ste. Marie Kewadin Casino TONIGHT & TOMORROW NIGHT! Yes, I am also aware of a rare mid-week (and late notice) show that they're playing in town next week, but to avoid a redundant re-post of it on Tuesday or so, I'll hold it until then. Given that their advertised show in Hessel last week likely didn't take place, these will be Tarnished's first advertised gigs since rocking the Manistique Kewadin in late October, with local audiences last seeing them in Dafter almost a month ago. Should be a fine pair of nights to see Alex, Nathan, Isaac, and Josh deliver their entertaining and crowd friendly blend of hard rock originals & covers, so don't miss out tonight and/or tomorrow!
