LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS (The 3 Day Millionaires & Tym Morrison), Weekend Concert Previews, And New Videos!!

Before we get our recap of last night's VM Radio Battle of the Bands semifinal up on the site, here's a new news post for you guys, with new videos from two local alternative hard rock bands, previews of this weekend's only currently known hard rock concerts, and first, LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS fot next weekend! Now, here's what you should know!

Here's our only currently confirmed hard rock concert previews for this weekend (outside of this week's battles of the bands), as longtime Caveman Morrison frontman Tym Morrison will return to Gliss Steak & Seafood for solo headlining concerts TOMORROW, and SATURDAY NIGHT, which he's also joining with a newly announced Roadhouse Bar & Grill concert TOMORROW NIGHT! Apologies for the short notice on the Roadhouse show, it was only announced via it's Facebook event page yesterday. Last seen at the Trunk Road venue in January, Tym should do fine in his old regular venue TOMORROW for a more typical nighttime concert! As for his Gliss shows, you may have noticed that Tym is not advertised to play at the Quality Inn's restaurant tonight, and while we don't have confirmation of this, it looks like he might not be playing Thursdays there anymore. Why? Because he has one more new show to announce, as he's playing at Cocina Del Diablo next Thursday evening!

Yes, Tym is making his debut at the Wellington Street West restaurant (formerly The Blue Boy) on Thursday at 7:00 PM, which is a good tie given that Tym's friend is the venue's owner. Is Tym playing at Cocina Del Diablo weekly on Thursdays now, or is this just a two week contraction to two nights? We'll let you know if we hear anything! In any event, Tym's Gliss shows tomorrow & Saturday are all ages events with no cover and 6:00 PM start times, and the Cocina Del Diablo show next month has similar ground rules, while TOMORROW'S Roadhouse show is at 10:00 PM and is a 19 event. Click here, here, and here for more details, and here's Tym live!

Next up, new local classic/hard rock cover quartet The 3 Day Millionaires will return to The Rockstar Bar for an apparent triple header next weekend, with shows listed for next Thursday (St. Patrick's Day) and then next Friday & Saturday! Though the band has yet to publically confirm these dates, the shows were announced via the official Facebook event page earlier this week. Two weeks removed from their first solo all-nighter, they should be ready to go next weekend with another hopping weekend of covers, and expect some green beer for the occasion on Thursday! Assuming they are indeed playing three nights and it's not a mistake, expect 19+ age limits, 10:30 PM start times, and no announced cover charges each night. This union of Havadder, Boxcar Junction, Wishbone, and Turner Up alumni have made a positive impression in their first two shows, so don't miss out on The 3 Day Millionaires at The Rockstar Bar next weekend!

We'll close today with some short videos from local punk/alternative musician Dustin Goodall's two active bands, including a second teaser for his grunge/hard rock trio The Pixo Control's forthcoming debut music video for their song "Scratch"! Uploaded on Monday to their YouTube channel, this is a shorter 10 second clip featuring more explosive and energetic footage than the earlier teaser, and it should help keep the anticipation going for the full video's reveal on March 25th! Give it a look below!

Finally, heres's the latest from Dustin's alternative hard rock band Id Iota, who are continuing their somewhat mysterious recording sessions and sharing scattered photos and videos from them to their Facebook page in the past week or so. Two videos have made it online, with one (embedded below) featuring frontman Christian Lemay explaining that they're looking for a "tink" sound effect for one of the songs they're working on, with drummer Blair St. John experimenting with objects in that and in the second video, which takes a turn... that's all I'll say. Short and entertaining, and we'll have to see what Id Iota have been up to lately, but give their new videos a look!

That's all for now, but stay tuned for our recap of last night's VM Radio Battle of the Bands semifinal next! Thanks everyone!
