Now, I will say this much right now: These two bands aren't new. I likely never added them to any SMS listings because there was no direct indication that they were from the Sault area. But, I should thank the second of these two bands for adding me on The Sault Metal Scene's Myspace page, as now I can give them their proper credit! My apologies for not adding them earlier!
So, these two bands are PYSS and Bill Satchels, and both are quite unique! Both feature Liam White as a member, though Bill Satchels seems to be the more active of the two. Both bands really have a techno/insudtrial/black metal kind of sound to them, at least from what I got out of them. Both bands have some very interesting originals on their Myspace pages! (Click the above links.) Check them out, they're good, and definitely different from other bands you've heard around here! Then again, you'd expect that when you list your genres as "Acousmatic, Tape Music, Drum & Bass, and Folk Rock"!
Next up, an update on Sault Michigan's own Integrated System of Machines! Now, as you know, they're in Milwaukee tomorrow night supporting fucking Soilwork and Darkane on this stop of their North American tour! But, they've scheduled two more shows out on the road for later in the year! Both will take place in Peshawbestown, Michigan, at The Leelenau Sands Casino! The first show will take place there on April 4th at 9:00 PM at The Elements Lounge , while the second will be on May 2nd at 8:00 PM in The Grand Showroom! Best of luck to I.S.O.M. on both of these shows! Remember to check the Out of Town Concert Listings for even more shows by local talent on the road this year!
Now, just anything else that I should mention, nothing is too shockingly huge, so here's a quick rundown of some news and notes:
- If you went to see Upheaval of an Exorcist or Jager this weekend, feel free to share how the shows were with a blog comment, on Facebook, or e-mail me at robfigures@hotmail.com!
- Minor correction on a band from March 20th's Battle of the Bands: The band I said were called "Dead Warriors" are actually called "Undead Warriors". Sorry about that! I still don't know a definite genre though.
- The Breaking The Fourth Wall/DeadWalk concert on March 21st appears to have a new band listed, or at least, I think so. They're called "Mmk", but I've never heard of them if they're a real band.
