SHORT NOTICE LOCAL CONCERT ALERT (Tym Morrison), The First Whitesnake Fallout, And More!!

After a couple days of previews and profiles, it's back to the news today on this last weekend of August, and today, we have the first videos from yesterday's Whitesnake concert and more assorted news, but first, here's a SHORT NOTICE LOCAL CONCERT ALERT!!

Caveman Morrison frontman Tym Morrison will in fact be playing an acoustic solo concert at Service Grill Pizza TODAY! Apologies for the short notice, Tym only announced the show last night, which is oddly late, but better late than never! As has generally been the case each Saturday since late June, Tym will be on for two sets today at 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the Korah Road restaurant, where you can expect some great and proficient covers of your favourite hard rock hits in a more intimate setting! There's no announced cover charge, and I expect both sets to be all ages. No word yet on if his weekly arrangement at the Service Grill will continue into September, though remember that when this originally started, it was just for every Saturday "this summer", so I guess we'll have to see if he'll be back there next weekend or not. For more details on TODAY'S sets, visit the official Facebook event page, and click here for details on his show in Hilton Beach on St. Joseph Island tomorrow, in case you wanna make a road trip! Sounds like fun, and hopefully a big crowd turns out to see Tym in action, so head to the Service Grill TODAY!! For a preview, here's Tym covering Eric Clapton's "Tears In Heaven" at Foggy Notions in 2009!

Next up, here's the first videos from last night's Whitesnake concert at The Dreammaker's Theater at Kewadin Casino! We'll start with one from YouTube user dfunker76, who's been a good source of Kewadin concert footage since 2009, including some nice videos from the Staind and Cinderella shows there. Well, he was at the Whitesnake concert, and filmed at least one video there, and it's now on his YouTube channel! Though a song name isn't given, the video's of Whitesnake playing their classic song "Bad Boys", and it's not bad quality! He got a good spot to film the band, and you see everything well! Audio lacks a bit, but you can at least make out everything decently well. The band sounds good, David Coverdale still sounds great, and if they sounded like this for the whole show, I reckon it'd be hard to complain! Check out Whitesnake playing "Bad Boys" in Sault Michigan last night, and stay tuned in case dfunker76 has any more videos from the show for us!

The other video is actually the first one I saw, and it comes from YouTube user Dwayne Lehn, who posted this onto his YouTube channel last night. He filmed Whitesnake guitarist Reb Beach's guitar solo at the concert, and you can watch it below! Not the best quality video, with a very dark side stage angle and distorted audio, but you can still hear Reb's talents through the technical limitations! If you wanna see Reb's solo last night, watch it below, and stay tuned to the SMS for more Whitesnake concert fallout as I hear it!

And finally for today, here's three assorted shorter stories from the last while, and as always, they're in alphabetical order by band or event name:
  • You may be aware of a concert at 200 Maple Street in Thessalon TONIGHT with Ottawa metal band Biipiigwan, Thessalon's own For All That Is Lost, locals The Bear Hunters & Shit Liver, and two mystery bands. Though not confirmed, it looks like one will feature ex-members of Bring The Misery, as their Facebook page plugged the show saying that "random members" would be playing. If I had to guess, I'd assume some band members are playing in one or both mystery bands, but this doesn't look like anything more than a one off. If I hear more, I'll let you guys know, and click here for show details!
  • Four new acts have been confirmed for the Searchmont Music Festival on September 10th, including local big band The Reptiles, Blackwater frontman Cody McMillan, a blues act of some kind named Tuff Gig, and local burlesque troupe The Salty Mollies. They should be good additions, metal or not, so keep an eye out for them at the festival!
  • I have removed defunct comedy metal project T.E.N. from our inactive Sault Ontario band links, as their Facebook page was quietly deleted earlier this month, and there's no alternative pages to replace it that I know of. Disappointing, but check out two of their demos at this location and best of luck to their old members!
That's all for now, but stay tuned for more Whitesnake fallout, some "Woods V" updates, our review of Sykotyk Rampage's "Zombies", and much more very soon! Thanks everyone!
