LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS, And Some More News!!!

Hey guys, sorry about the lack of activity over the last couple days, I've been busy with family vacation stuff, and overall, and I hadn't came across much news. But, it's been what, three days since my last post? I figured I should cobble together some stuff to report, and luckily, I found a lot of stuff, so let's begin with some LOCAL CONCERT ALERTS!!!

First of all, we have a concert scheduled for July 22nd at The Oddfellows Hall! Your headliners are Montreal Christian hardcore band Breaking The Fourth Wall, with Windsor death metal band Constructed Apocalypse backing them up! No other bands have been announced to my knowledge. This will be Breaking The Fourth Wall's first Sault-area show since January, though they were planned for a concert in March, that was eventually cancelled. This will be Constructed Apocalypse's second Sault-area show of the year, following a scheduled date next month with Today I Caught The Plague! There's no Facebook event page yet, nor is there info on times or prices, but there's enough proof to call this show, and I'll keep you guys posted!

Next up, Muskegon, MI modern rock band Kilacel are making their way to Sault Michigan for a pair of shows in the coming weeks! I believe they're recently formed, so if you've never heard of them before, that's probably why! Anyway, Kilacel have booked two concerts at The Corner Pub Bar and Grill, one on May 29th, and the other on June 12th! I don't know for sure if the June 12th show is part of the already scheduled Battle of the Bands featuring Integrated System of Machines, but seeing as the times for both shows conflict, they might be on it. I'll combine Kilacel into the listing for it, but if I'm wrong, my apologies! Seeing as they're a newer band, give them a listen on their official MySpace page! Who knows, you might wanna go check them out on the 29th!

Also, on May 15th, Sault Michigan grunge rockers Half Stupid will take part in this year's Malcolm High School Music Festival at The Big Bear Arena (which is located in the Chi Muk Wa Community Recreation Center, and across from Kewadin Casino!) They will be playing in the volleyball court alongside local ska-punk band The Pick-Me-Ups and local solo artist Mike Libertoski! Tickets are just $5, everything starts at 7:00 PM, and you can get tickets at 588-7465, or at the door, I assume! This is the first show I've noticed from Half Stupid in a while, and hopefully it will be a good one! Check them out on MySpace!

Now, as you probably have gathered, we're still in third place in the Kiss campaign (VOTE TODAY TO YOUR RIGHT!!!), and now, Kiss are capitalizing even further on all this. Now, you can buy official t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, bumper stickers, buttons, magnets, keychains, and postcards that say "I Demand Kiss in Sault Ste. Marie", or whatever city you demand them to go to on this tour! Yeah, it's another Gene Simmons moneygrab, but come on, how often are you gonna find official Kiss merchandise that plugs the Soo?

If you are at all interested in getting your own Sault/Kiss stuff, head to this link to check out the items and buy whatever you want! And check out SooToday's article on the Kiss merch at this location! Aside from that, no real updates in terms of our rank, but SooToday's sister site in North Bay, BayToday, helped get a few hundred more votes for us, which is awesome! And if you guys haven't voted yet, VOTE TODAY! Yes, there is a one vote per e-mail limit, but you can vote once for each e-mail you have, so use that to get our total higher!!

Now, here's a potential show that I found on Myspace: According to their page, Alberta-based metal band All Else Fails are coming to Sault Ontario on June 9th. But, there's no venue listed, just "Sault Ste. Marie" A postal code is given (P6A 1Y5), which is downtown, but no concert venues that I looked up have that exact postal code. There's also no Facebook event page either, so I won't call this as a definite concert yet. Maybe they're still looking for a venue, I dunno, but if I hear any updates on this show, you'll get it here! Check them out on MySpace though, they're pretty good!

Ok, I'll leave it at that for now, I just needed to get caught up on a lot of stuff, I was just lucky to have extra free time today! Fingers crossed, I'll have some more frequent updates from here on out, and just for reference, I return to Sault Ste. Marie Sunday night, and I plan on being at the Who Made Who concert at The Canadian on Friday night! Have a good one!
