There are three shows in this first weekend of May, with the first two taking place in Sault Michigan! Tonight and tomorrow night, local classic hard rockers Bad Side will take the stage at The Rapids Lounge at Kewadin Casino for a pair of concerts! Both will start at 9:00 PM, and should be further examples of why Bad Side are so popular and successful! I'd say go check them out, but if you want a preview, here's a video for their song "Hit Me"!
Meanwhile, in Sault Ontario, there is one concert this weekend! On Sunday night, local metallers Necropolis will be among the support bands at a show headlined by Toronto-based classical/punk band RedD Monkey! Joining Necropolis as support acts are two local punk bands: The Fury and Stealing Kisses! This show will take place at The Oddfellows Hall, tickets are just $5, and the doors open at 7:00! And to check out what you might expect from Necropolis, here's a video from their winning performance at March's YMCA Battle of the Bands, while still known as The Undead "Brown Pelican" Warriors!
Next up, if you're a subscriber to Northern Rocks Magazine, you should have recieved this month's issue in your inboxes today at some point! There isn't a lot about local metal in this issue, but there's a few things I can mention! First off, they're running a contest this month, where you can win one of eight prize packs featuring items based around Thunder Bay death metal band Norris (who are coming to Sault Ontario on June 11th with Today I Caught The Plague!) To enter, send an e-mail including your name, city, and e-mail address to contests@northernrocksmagazine.com, and if you're a winner, you will recieve Norris' new album "Bone Crusher", as well as a Norris poster, button, and stricker! Tickets at this location are limited, so when a big metal band hits The Dreammaker's Theater, get tickets while you can! There's no real "metal" shows on the horizon at the moment, but when one's announced, I'll let you all know!This computer is as slow as Chinese Democracy was to come out, so I'll leave this post for tonight.
