So tomorrow night at The Lock City Grand Theater, there will be some metal at a local punk show! Operation: Killdozer, who competed at the YMCA Battle of the Bands in March, will return to the stage as one of many support acts for Edmonton punk legends SNFU! Though I'm not really into punk as much as metal, SNFU are good, so check them out! As well, this concert will feature Ottawa punk rockers Snatchback, Toronto's TheEndProgram, and a pair of local bands: Nebraska Arms and The Scary Uncles!
Tickets are $20, but remember, SNFU are legends, so the price isn't unfair. Doors open at 6:00, and tickets will be available at the door if you don't have any yet! If you wanna check out the non-metal bands, click on their names to head to their respective pages! But for a preview of what to expect from Operation: Killdozer, check out this video from the YMCA Battle of them performing their original song "Pieces Of You"!
And as usual, if you're going to this show, we'd love to hear from you! After tomorrow, your next local metal concert in Sault Ontario is Sense of Truth at the Skate4Cancer benefit on May 14th! Now, let's go over quickly, other local metal news items:
- As of 3:00 PM today, we are still in 3rd place in the Kiss voting! We have also crossed 9,000 total votes, and are around 1,000 behind Oshawa for 2nd. No cut-off date for the voting has been announced yet. VOTE TODAY AT THE TOP RIGHT OF THE PAGE!!! For additional SooToday coverage of the Kiss campaign, head to this location!
- In other SooToday-related metal news, an article has been posted featuring some videos, photos, and comments about last week's Staind concert at Kewadin Casino, which you can view at this location!
- Finally, I just got word that local hard rockers Stillbroke have opened an official Youtube account! Currently, it features ten excellent quality live videos from their recent concert at The Verdi Hall, which you can check out here! Thanks to Laurie Frigault for the information! Check out this video of Stillbroke's original song "Abnormality"!
I'll leave it at that for tonight, sorry for any lack of detail or noticeable style differences, but that's what happens when you're on a different computer, without much free time. The joys of vacation, huh? But I must say, I saw Disturbed on the weekend, and it was fucking AWESOME, so it's not all bad! I'll hopefully have some more news very soon, so keep your browsers pointed here, and thanks for the continued support!
