Four New Local Metal Videos I've Found!

It's video time! Four recent local metal-related YouTube clips to share this evening, some recent, some missed during all the Kiss battle stuff! Hopefully you guys enjoy one or all of these clips, so here's what I've found!

To start, the first half of a new video interview with Woods of Ypres frontman David Gold has been posted online! It was conducted by Adam Wills from Hellbound.ca (who reviewed "Woods IV" last month, link here) in North Bay on the shores of Lake Nipissing (literally!) It features David discussing the band's new album, the band's progression to doom metal, the new CD's lyrical themes, the meanings behind "Your Ontario Town Is A Burial Ground", and the frequent rotation of new band members! David gives a lot of good insightful answers, and the choice of the Lake Nipissing shores is unique and kinda cool! However, the interview was held on a windy day with the tide coming in, so David is often hard to hear. Still a good interview, if you pay close attention! Check it out below, and when Hellbound.ca uploads the second part of the interview, I'll let you guys know!

Next up, a video has finally shown up online from the Kiss Battle of the Bands this past week! It comes from the second night of the battle, December 1st, and features both songs played that night by Sault Michigan's own Nixxon Dixxon! Not only does it get both tracks, but it also catches a bit of their introduction by Mark SanAngelo too! Excellent quality video here, best quality clip I've seen yet of these guys! More proof of their budding talent here, and check this out especially if you didn't see them this past Tuesday or Wednesday! Thanks to YouTube user myangels1266 for the upload! Also check out some more live Nixxon Dixxon clips at that account too! Remember to see them on New Years' weekend at Kewadin Casino if you get a chance!

Third video I have to show today is a new clip from a "Monday night jam session" involving members of the originally Sault-based local band Sue Inside! Featuring frontman Shane Fraser and Adam Veen on drums, they've uploaded three clips from this "session" onto Shane's YouTube account, including songs entitled "MILF, Next Generation", "Wal Mart", and this one, for the song "You Will Never Know"! Sounds pretty good, too bad they left town, but maybe they'll come back one of these days! Click on each song's title to check out the clips, I'll show you guys one of them here, so here's "You Will Never Know", which I selected for it's closeness to classic Sue Inside!

And finally, noted local drummer Glen Thomas (Flat Stanley, ex-Wishbone) has uploaded even more clips of songs from his past metal bands onto YouTube! There's too many to mention on his account now, head there to check out some great old songs from way back when! Visit Glen's YouTube account at this location! I'll show you guys one of the better clips, a great quality live recording of his old band Cowboys From Hell playing an original entitled "War Is On"! Check it out immediately below! It'd be cool to see Glen back in a metal band, but Flat Stanley will do just fine!

That's all I have for tonight, my next post will either be another random assemblage of news (I have lots more yet), my review of TOMORROW'S Garden of Bedlam concert at Madison's Pub, or both! Also, expect a preview of Tuesday's Three Days Grace concert Monday at some point, which I WILL be in attendance for! Stay tuned!
